Yes...or when another Italian journalist asks Charlie something about a credit card?? The look on Mr. Watts' face!! ;-)
Cracked open Rio last night. Great filming! Was sad they omitted TPIE but oh well. The documentary I found very fascinating, and that crowd! Holy SH! If it was 1.2MM or 2MM, either way, I wouldn't wanna be there!
One of the hightlights is definetley Get Up Stand Up! This song is truly a group effort. Everyone does a good job with their part and they achieve a perfect sound. Charlies drumming, The gituars, the bass line, horn section, keyboards. and Mick is just great. He does a good Jamaican-esqe, yet at the same time Jagger-esque accent. The call and response part "Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, No, No" reminds me alot of the call and response part of Bob Marleys "Punky Reggea Party". One of the things I've always loved about the stones is their humble slightly ironic attitude about their work. Before the song theres a clip of mick saying something like"Any decent band should be able to cover any song." Thats true, but this is one talented group.
I still havent watched RIO, ive just been getting into Austin. My favorite part of the Austin show is the tripple onslought of Shes So Cold/ONNYA/Sway... Loud Gitaurs High Energy, Hard rokcing music. I think this current version of Shes So Cold might be better than 81-82. I enjoyed it In SF but wasnt able to really pay close attention to it and didn't have the advantage of being able to playit over again. Daryls Bass really contributes to this version, and the gituars have a more country flavor to them, closer to the album version. The notes that Mick Hits sound better than in 81.
Geeez, you'd think I was a Stones Fan or something.

There is SO much in this to savor. On Disc 4, watching Keith perform "Hurricane", Charlie and Bernard on that oh-so-cool jazz version of "Miss You", and Ronnie playing bits of "Prodigal Son". Damn!
Oh, yeah, there's also the main shows. Austin is worth the price in of itself.
I'm happy for my overseas mates (especially you, Rockman) who now have it.
Do the modern-era Stones still "have it"? Hell, yeah! The proof is there for all to see and hear.
Wow! I didn't know "Hurricane" was on the DVD. I've only seen disc 1 so far. I went to the Houston show three months after Katrina. Couldn't find the CD there. Weren't they selling or taking donations for the CD at shows after the storms?
Happy to see you're so into it ROCKMAN, a BRILLIANT box set !! ARGENTINA'S WILD - so great seeing how the whole place is pumped up, the guy jumping up on stage at the end is unbelievable .... I love when the Italian reporter asks Charlie if he has a business card - the look on his face - WOT !?!? BUSINESS CARD!?!?!.... priceless footage !!! Enjoy it ROCKMAN, glad you guys now have it.....
Yeah, THAT security guy was transfered to the T-shirt and Concert Program booth I believe.... that was after Cohl yelled at him for 2 hours while angerly throwing food and cups of beer at him as he was trying to eat a late snack - lol.....
Just received my BB dvd today...ordered it from Axel Music( danmark) though it is region 1(USA format) so that I just can play it on my PC and not on my dvd player( well...it can be playd on the dvd but just in black&white picture.
The layout looks similar to the FF dvd...I like the background picture when you take out all 4 dvd`s you have a bright look of Rio beach during the gig...so many people....its unbelievable. Anyway...tonight will be a long..or better say a short night for sleep. my personal comments will follow later.
Just been watching Austin so far....really impressive in camera & soundwise..plus a hell of a sound...but, the only disatvantage IMO regarding the Austin show is the way they made the picture layout..dont know how to explain it exactly...it looks more like a documentary stile..it was the same picture quality as in the 1990 video "Stones at the Max"...wheras I prefer that kind of "cinemascope" picture..like it was in Barcelona 90 or Twickenham 2003 on FF...of course just a matter of taste... The songs Bob Willis & Learning the game are 2 very cool tunes...a nice change indeed. Now I have to watch on..still 3 dvd to watch. Salar
I hear what your saying salar. I thought the picture quality in Austin was was weird at first. I had to adjust to it, but now I dig it!
If you think about it is FF really any more a realisic representation of a concert than biggest bang? Its all a matter of what the french call "perceptIOne"

My favorite Keith quote in a while. I laughed hard when I saw that one.
