Hard Woman

Felt an urge to play this one. One of Jaggers bets ballads. Really love it. It's so over the top, so cheesy, so Jagger, yet it moves my guts. What I love of Mick's slow numbers is that he almost ever takes himself seriously. They always have a good mood in them. No rotten sentiments.

As always, it has to be played loud. Some good guitar arrangements there.

Unfortunately it has an awful video, in the sense that it does not match the music at all.

Great song! The video version (or the video itself) is not so good

Oh yeah. Great song. Great vocals and drums. Best song from She's the Boss IMO.

Is it a different version?

The album version is a more typical latterday Jagger ballad and features Jeff Beck and Pete Townshend on guitar. The single version and video version is a completely different arrangement (more rock, than ballad) with lyrical changes (and not for the better) and utilizes different producers and features The Hooters as Jagger's backing band. Hard to believe he took time off from the Dirty Work sessions to rework this song.

Well, all my comments are referred to the LP version (don't even have the CD!)

"How can I say goodbye-ey-a to my baa-yby.." I love when he drawls that line LOL
Were you listening to the Beck/Townshend/Jagger version of the Hooter version?

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

Who me? The Beck/Townshend/Jagger. Just saw on you tube the other version, the Beck/Townshend/Jagger is way way better!

It's features Mick's most "affected" singing, I think.
Even if I don't know the video, I know exactly his facial expressions when he sings it.

To me it defines a certain time and I'm always taken back to a certain place and a certain girl (are you reading this, Catherine?? ;-) ) when I hear songs from "She's The Boss"

I don't hear much difference between "Hard Woman" and "Streets of Love." I wouldn't rank either with "Almost Hear You Sigh," "Out of Tears," or "Already Over Me."

Well, can't blame Dylan for not changing the setlists ;-)

Re: Hard Woman

you're right and we also can't blame him for not playing songs from his latest album, of the 10 songs on Modern Times, I think I heard at least 8, most of the time 4 sometimes even 5 songs on a night..... doing two completely different concerts in the Heineken Music Hall on two consecutive evenings at Easter time was awesome....people flew in from all over the place to come see him there...

I think Bob and The Stones are both great in their own different ways, what the one is lacking somewhat the others have plenty off and vica versa, maybe that's why they're such good friends....

Listen to the brandnew Huck's Tune on Youtube it's truly amazing in my eyes...here's the link:

Just my 2 cents...
Hans
