Wow,
Get well soon Bo!
I saw him play in my home town last year. (Halifax, NS) I couldn't afornd the ticket so I jumped the fence. Just in time to see him play. He played sitting down the whole set. Had some show girls come on during "Bo Diddly", was very cool.
A friend told me that in the afternoon of the show he did a short set & sign autograghs, talked to fans & was a true gentleman. I really wished I had met him (I'm too jealous!) but still am very happy I saw him play his set. He even did "the Bo Diddly Rap" Cool tune.
Get well Bo, "Hey Bo Diddly......da...da,da....da,da,...da!"

Have seen Bo a number of times over the years but mid-way thru at one
particular show in a small club, this really fat chick vomited over the stage
and some of Bo's leads..pedals etc ....Bo wasn't very happy so he stopped
the show told her to go to the rest room...Then he took a break while sound crew cleaned up....

When Bo returned though he was frantic..Face cheeks a-blown out
and a-wobblin'..Words-a stutterin'....Guitar a-rattlin'....Legs a-shakin'....place went crazy...!!!...

Just a quick B-Dids story... I went to his club show 20 years ago in Boston at a club called "The Channel" I believe...and guess who showed up for a few songs??
Yes, R-r-r-r-r-r-r-onnie Wooooooood!!!!!

Ronnie sang lead for Tumblin' Dice & Honky Tonk Woman, I remember that. We had a table in front of the stage about 15 feet away.
Great show!

Too bad! sad smiley All the best to the Gunslinger!

Last year I had tickets to see him at Munich´s Cirkus Krone,
2 days before the Stones played the town. But the show was called off.

Seemed to have been my last chance!

Saw him almost 20 years ago. The funny thing was, I had to go get a friend who lived in the then "Red Light District" of Copenhagen and who should I bump into but Bo and assorted comrades coming out of a porn shop *lol*

They were so close to me that I could have reached out and touched him. Instead I just went about my way - always did regret I did not ask for his autograph - a man amongst men, indeed!!

Well, he gave a hell of a performance that evening - perhaps rejuvinated by whatever sheenigans he was up to in the afternoon ;-)

Very wise -- great phrase. I will remember that and perhaps quote you in writing or verbally in the future.

And everybody -- let's forget about this "he's gonna die" stuff. Say some prayers and be optimistic and positive.

Thanks. When I was 16-23 years old (1987-1994), I saw as many of my heroes live as possible. Closest I got to the Stones was third row center stage for Steel Wheels, but I was lucky enough to see Bo and Ronnie in '87, Keith in '88, and a ton of great shows by musicians I admired like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, James Cotton, Robert Lockwood Jr. among many others. I was fortunate in that my best friend was DJ of a blues show at a local college station and I had the chance to sometimes meet these legends before or after their show...on occasion, even had drinks with them. Not all of them were appreciative of their fame and I'm not talking about being snubbed or blown off because I understand there are always times a performer may not feel like talking or greeting fans at a given moment. Bo Diddley stood out among the rest, not only for his energy, but for his genuine friendliness and kindness when I was a lost kid who thought blues and blues-based rock was my mission to evangelize wherever I could. I'm sure I was overzealous in my enthusiasm. He could have been impatient, but instead he seemed genuinely happy a white kid knew his music so well. As much as he encouraged me, he also dropped the advice on two separate occasions that I should go to school and do something with myself, be a doctor or a lawyer or something. He saw what I couldn't. That I was headed down the wrong path without the necessary talent, I was going to burn myself out if I didn't put the breaks on it. Looking back at age 36, I'll always love The Originator for his beat, his humor, his great lyrics (Who Do You Love and some of the great doo-wop he crafted with Harvey Fuqua), but also for his integrity and genuine compassion. I wore my You Don't Know Diddley sweatshirt a lot in those days and I'll always appreciate the man for taking the time to talk to me.

Sad to hear the news about Bo. As a multiple stroke survivor myself, my thoughts go out to him. I know their are different types of strokes and a lot deppends on the location in the brain and amount of damage. Also things like support, attitude, age, stress, and other health problems make a diffence in recovery.
All the best to Bo from,
Stones Blah

You gotta love this:
" He wanted to know where his stuff was: his guitar and the money from the gig. I was so happy because that is the Bo that I know and love, and a real indication that Bo is on his way back."
