Kooyong Tennis Courts - Melbourne 17 February 1973...Evening show.....

After somehow surviving the heat and sheer onslaught
of the Stones afternoon show we returned to Kooyong some 3-4
hours later. This time around under the power of the lights Mick & Keith
looked absolutely evil...Keith's skin glowed green while Mick made his every
move pure theatrics.....Midnight Rambler Micky Boy was full on sex-mad devil....Crippling Stuff

.....my second was Charlotte 1997......my first time in Eriksson Stadium.....I was the guest of my ex-sister-in-law, whose date backed out on her at the last minute.....she drove while I got wasted ("a drunkards dream if I ever did see one") and we had great seats right beside the B stage (which totally freaked me out because I didn't know anything about the B stage until that big hydraulic bridge started coming my way)....great show, and our webmaster, BV, wrote a nice review of that show....it's on this website, of course

2nd show was the No Security tour, Hartford Civic Center, Goo Goo Dolls opened. 6th row behind the stage....Some Girls, Paint It Black for the first time. Fantastic show. I remember telling my parents I was going to see the Stones that night in February, and they were like, but you don't have tickets. To which I responded don't worry about that - I bought them from a scalper and it was the highlight of my Stones obsession for a very long time, until last year, as the closest I'd ever been to the boys.

That was eclipsed by the MSG 1st show 2007 when I was less than 10 feet away from the B-Stage, and by my 2nd row seats at Churchill Downs.

My second show was Twickenham Stadium, London 20 August 2006. I was lucky enough to get one of those £60 front row seats. I actually sat next to erikjjf. Among the highlight were Sway, Ruby Tuesday and Sympathy. Another unforgettable moment was when the stage started moving and I made a dash out to the b-stage and enjoyed Rough Justice and Get Off Of My Cloud about 10 meters from the band. It was really hot, crowded and absolutely wonderful. And best of all is that I'm going to see the best band ever several times this summer. It's gonna be a great time....

Cleveland July 1,1978, I'm out there FOS somewhere. Lots of M80s, lots of bikers, fairly ragged show. Peter Tosh lit a huge spliff during his set.

November 13, 1994 - Houston Astrodome

It sucked. We sat behind the big giant screen that was set up on the floor of the dome and it blocked our view of the stage completely! We ended up watching a video of the Voodoo Lounge concert instead of a live performance. Who's bright idea was it to do that? You couldn't miss the fact that about 5000 people would not be able to see the stage. And they had seats directly in front of it.

Leeds Roundhay park 25th July 1982. A great day both weather wise and the atmosphere. Better than the rainy Wembley, but not as intense as I was down in the crush in London.

I'll never forget those shows. Keith's guitar was the loudest ever.AND Stu's last show.........gone but not forgotten.

My second show was in Hartford , CT in the Civic Center on November 28 1981. Tickets were very hard to come by and we ended up buying the tickets from a broker in Fort Lee , NJ . The seats we had retailed for $ 8.50 and there were six of us who were willing to pay $100.00 for tickets . We were all very excited to go to the Stones show . They had been rehearsing at Long View Farm in Central Massachusetts and we sometimes snuck up to the back roads that surrounded the farm to have a few beers and listen in on rehearsals . Myself and a date tried to get in to Sir Morgans Cove in Worcester ( August '81 ) for the "Blue Monday and The Cockroaches " show but were denied . We had to wait for November to see the Stones . Sadly though part of my memories of that show also include the death of my grandmother . She passed away a couple of days before the show . My Mom & Dad insited that I go to the concert , so that was pretty damn cool of them to do . As I'm writing this I can't help but being reminded of Gramma . I live in which was once her apartment . Much of the furnishings are the same . Heres the setlist

My second one was June 3, 1975 -- first San Antonio show--third show of the tour. No tape exists to my knowledge and my memory is fuzzy. I remember a long, somewhat sloppy but very spirited and entertaining show. Lots of fun.

I'd be interested to hear a few examples of the between-song chatter Mick said at the Candlestick show.

Parc des Princes, Paris June 22nd 1990

Eight years after the show at Slane which I long thought would be the only time I ever got to see them. What an eternity that gap was.

Nobody in 1982 seriously thought the Stones would or could keep touring when in their 40's. It just wasnt done and people (including fans) really DID say they couldnt do this when they got to that age because theyd be too old and slow.

Didnt we look bloody stupid? If you'd told me in 1990 that in 2007 I'd be going to my 47th show that summer I'd have called for the guys in white coats to bring their nets for you.

I honestly could have happily walked out after one minute of that show. Just that adrenalin rush of the band running on stage again which I never thought would ever happen was enough.

This was my first show, The Stones.

My second was 2 nights later! My seat was on the ground a little beyond and to the right facing the B-Stage. However, about 2-3 songs into the show, a beautiful image appeared with a seat in, row 6 or so (don't recall exactly, but they were MUCH better than where I was!) courtesy of another attendee's misfortune and a loquacious Duck.

Set list for Twick 2 was:

Twickenham Rugby Ground
London, UK
8/22/2006
Jumping Jack Flash
It's Only Rock'n Roll
She's So Cold
Let's Spend The Night Together
Live With Me
Rain Fall Down
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Bitch
Tumbling Dice
Slipping Away (Keith)
Before They Make Me Run (Keith)
Miss You (to B-Stage)
Rough Justice
Start Me Up
Honky Tonk Women (to main stage)
Sympathy For The Devil
Paint It Black
Brown Sugar
Satisfaction (encore)
