I remember a quote from some years back...I think Doris was at a show and when asked about her son, said he was still that shy little boy he always was.

That's because everybody's getting old, lad.

RIP Doris, and condolences to all the Richards' family - I lost my Dad at age 91 a couple of years ago, and my Mom is 88! Happy to have a genetic makeup like Keef!

It's so tough to lose a parent. Until you experience it you just don't know. My heart goes out to Keith and his family. I think one of the reasons Keith and the Stones survived early on was because of Doris supporting them when they were down and out. Clone those Dupree genes!

RIP Doris, and thanks for bringing him up so he can pass it on.
Our deepest thoughts go to Keith, Patti, Angela, Marlon, Alexandra and Theodora.

I noticed that Keith stayed at her bedside, and did not go to Ahmet's funeral. That's how a good son behaves. Sorry for your loss.

"Richards is the only child of Doris and Bert Richards...In her later years, she raised her granddaughter Angela."

This was a quote from the yahoo news link BV provided on the news page. Does anyone know more to the story of why Doris raised Keith's child, Angela? I'm guessing Keith was in the throes of drug addiction and couldn't raise a child?

correct - as was Anita.

But they managed to take care of MArlon. Angela, however, had a health problem, I believe. I've read she had a cleft lip. Babies with this problem sometimes have difficulties eating and drinking and that takes a lot of time to manage. I suppose two parents, in the condition Keith and Anita were in the mid 70's, would find it impossible to handle that. Good thing they let Doris, then in her 60s, take care of Dandelion / Angela. And Angela has become a very nice, young lady. Met her twice, and she seems to be very close to her dad these days. Even works for him.

Very sad news.
I met Doris a few times in 1980. She was a very, very lovely woman! And I guess a wonderful Mother.
Condolances to Keith and the whole family.

R.I.P. Doris - till the next, we say goodbye!
