I love this version! Blows the studio version away. One of those songs that is much better live than studio, such as Out Of Control. Can't believe I'm saying this but like Neighbors better here than the 81 versions. His enunciations of many words / verses the recent Neighbors renditions make me laugh in a good way MEZ
I love this version of Neighbours too. I love the studio cut,but the '03 versions are superior to the live renditions of '81 and '82. Keith is in full Chuck Berry mode on this Paris rendition.

On the studio version of Neighbours Ronnie, Charlie and Stu were the heroes who got this song rocking. On this Live Licks version Keith is the BIG hero who carries the song together with Mick.

Yup, me too up until recently. I gladly didn't buy this one since it came out because I didnt' want to support it. I got it recently after moving away and not having many Stones CDs with me. I use this to jam on guitar with.
I have to say...almost all the songs from Four Flicks don't sound like they are. Vocally and the way they're mixed...make it sound completely different.

When I saw it live, it was from the small stage; so no big entourage.
The Live Licks version really rocks, I prefer Mick's singing to his shouting on the record, but Bobby Keys has not got the slightest chance against Sonny Rollins.
"Neighbours" is one of those cuts that has a sign of well of creativity getting dry and I think the only real filler in otherwise great Tattoo You album. I find it surprising that they re-discovered it decades later. In Live Licks they also sound like 'isn't this boring song, lads, but bloody easy to play without rehersial and guitarists even remember the basic chords, well, at least another of them..."
Anyway, that was my opinion.

I prefer the live 81 versions by far. The newer versions aren't bad but Mick sounds a little flat. I do like how Keith restructures the song in a Berry kind of way. But for me nothing beats the 81 versions.
