It's Peter Mestdagh or something like that. Bv said there were no club gigs but I'm sure he won't mind being misinformed if they will announce club gigs after all

Just got the information that the name of this guy is "Maverick." <-;

As far as I know he's kind of expert of the Stones club tour schedules. So there is probably no better informed person.

Hope people read this line as well:

THAT WAS A JOKE!

Jesus Christ - not another Doubting Thomas. They're "not doin stuff together any more" ? Says who? Your source, please?

Yeah, theyre going to go to the trouble of calling a press conference to 'announce' that they'll be doing nothing. Maybe while theyre at it, they'll also announce that they arent going to be doing an album of Bon Jovi covers, that Mick hasnt got anyone pregnant, that Keith hasnt fallen out of a tree for six months, that Ronnie hasnt had a drink for a week, and that Charlie's operation for throat cancer in 2004 means that he wont be singing at any future shows.

i just logged on today for the first time and this is GREAT NEWS!

even if it's just a couple of theater shows, i'd be happy. i guess i'll have to change my plans from the balkans though...

that rex theater is beautiful, but i hope they don't play there because of the seats...they gotta do the general admission thing - it's the only way i'll get up front!

i still have a "pre-may 9th" legacy (which i realize is no longer any more special than a regular legacy). those of us with them should network for a ticket exchange. trade our extras for other theater shows?

To poor to go to Europe this summer, but I hope you get a lot of shows including clubs, but I wouldnt hold my breath even if they mention doing clubs/theaters at the press conference. They mentioned that stuff at the May 2005 press conference, and when you think about it..only one city (NYC) got any thing.
I hope I am wrong.

Forty Niks,in a post the other day, you observed that the Dutch continued to respect Octavian through the retention of the name Augustus for that month.

However I warn you, do not forget what happended to his uncle on March 15 (the Ides of March). This is an inauspicious day for those who would be kings and rulers.

Will these be "club shows" (a few hundred people) in a club or "theatre shows" in theaters (a very few thousand people in a theatre)?

I have seen a theater show (Beacon) but never a club show.

Paradiso can hold approximately 1800 people, wich is really not very much. I know 400/1000 people is much less, but regarding the available space/distance to stage: what does it matter: front row is front row, 10 meters away is not much closer than 15, and both are very close. Arrive in time, and it doesn't matter if the room holds a few hunderds more or less. Of course, I'm talking General Admission.

Peter Mestdagh is a freelance journalist and a stonesfan according to Radio 1.
So, that's the source!

Here we go again! This is going to do serious damage to my wallet. Would love them to do the Glasgow Barrowland, but no chance of that on this leg of the tour.
Hope I get some good tickets, though.

best music venue on the planet and alway with a fantastic crowd. If they do a small show anywhere in Europe, that should be the place!

As a U.S.-based fan, I'm happy for everyone on the other side of the pond. I don't have the means to travel abroad, but I can't wait to hear the news on Thursday. Good luck, all!

Appreciate it, and don't worry - I can't imagine you've seen the last of the Rolling Stones on your side of the pond. There's always 2008 ... and 09 ... and 10 ... and and and. They ain't goin' nowhere, they're gonna rock till they drop, Keith n' Ron will make sure of it.

have heard nothing aside from what posted on here (by textmonkey I think) a couple of weeks ago.

As they were meant to play Dublin last year, I guess theres a decent chance of it happening - although IMO Croke Park seems a bit too large to try and fill for a Stones show at such short notice.

WOW! a namecheck by the bauld Gazza!!!

no further word from here, but am emailing a pal of mine in RTE who might know these things, and if she says she can't comment about a specific show, i'll obviously pass on any lack of comment here...

*taps side of nose*

you ain't seen me, right....
