ah..thanks....its an "audio rumour", not a written one..LOL. My Dutch and Flemish are non-existent unfortunately. Can you advise what it said about Dublin and Nijmegen? Any proposed dates? Thanks

I presume this is a new interview or is it the same as the one from a few days ago?

A press conference is normally done before a tour is starting, or during a tour, as they move into new continents and major markets. The European shows for 2006 were announced through a taped message while they were in Dallas, USA on tour for the shows there late 2005. Unless they are desperate for publicity, or are planning to do a special stunt for Europe 2007, I can't see them flying into Amsterdam or Brussels to announce this part of the tour. The dates will be announced, of course, but it will probably be a taped sequence, where they say they are happy to be returning to Europe to do unfinished business. It might happen this week or in April.

Theres a hell of a difference between March 15th and "April"!

Why dont they just go the whole hog and announce the tour AFTER its finished? It makes as much sense as waiting until as late as humanly possible to confirm anything.

C'mon Stones - shit or get off the pot. It's time.

1) Thanks for these updated news
2) You confirm that the tour is to happen ( as you always wrote )
3) " to do unfinished business " stick to the original planning of the cancelled / postponed dates ( I hope that New Wembley is included in it )
4) you keep the pressure up... So are the Stones.

Of course the tour will happen. They are still on tour. They just happened to take a break this winter. Old people need to rest, and Europe can only be toured outdoor in the summer time. They missed out on many cities last summer and these shows they will announce soon will take care of that, plus some new shows of course, like they always do when tey try to make a complete touring package.

I agree.

But I can not spend it the way I wanted. Because it's getting more and more difficult for me to get days off for the tour.

It's probably been covered in one of the other many threads about Europe 2007 and it actually makes no odds but I'm wondering if this tour really is a continuation of ABB or will it be branded a 'new' tour (Yes I know tours usually kick off in North America). It's all just semantics what the Tour's called but we're almost 2 years down the road from ABB's release and there weren't that many cancelled gigs in Europe last year. It seems that the tours are running in to one another now (every few months would be fine with me to give me time to save).

I can't really be bothered with setlist speculation and wishlists but I still maintain that whatever title is given to the tour that tracks from ABB will be minimal.

Slight tangent on a theme: Didn't the ABB Tour tentatively start life as 'On Stage'? or did I imagine that?

Yeah this is a weird one. I was thinking calling it ABB after 2 year's possibly 3 year's that's kinda bizarre. Look at steel wheel's/europe Urban Jungle then Briges to No security. So if they still call it ABB i think that would be weird, but they would not have to make new stages then that cost Million's or they could use the stage from the south america show's,Mexico and New Zealand which were cool and not used in Europe last year. The feathered stage.

Hmmm...I think there were about 17, which was pretty much half of the tour.

The changes were as follows (as far as I recall):

Cancelled due to legal problems with promoters : Dublin (tickets never went on sale)
Cancelled due to Keith's accident : Nuremburg, Leipzig (not rescheduled due to slower sales)
Postponed due to Keith's accident and then cancelled : Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, Gothenburg, St Petersburg, Brno, Warsaw, Athens, Zagreb and Frankfurt, Paris #2, Amsterdam #2 (I'm not sure but I dont think Zagreb tickets went on sale)
Cancelled due to Mick's sore throat/flu - Valladolid, El Ejido
Postponed due to Keith's accident and then rescheduled : Paris #1, Amsterdam #1, Milan, Vienna, Bergen and Horsens

17 of the announced shows therefore were cancelled altogether and six were rescheduled. Only 13 shows went ahead on the dates they were supposed to.

Youre correct. It was just a tentative title until they came up with the album name and therefore the tour concept. In the last few days before the album info was announced in late July 2005, press reports were saying that the album (and tour) would be called "Manhattan Beach"

I really didn't think there were that many. Perhaps subconsciously I was hoping that they'd just forget about those cancelled dates and play Scotland again tho' I don't really see that happening again so soon.

Manhattan Beach? How cheesey!

Sorry for the confusion, I wrote this as a response to Gazza's post. Zagreb had gone on sale in 2006. The sale for this year's tour hasn't started yet.

hi gazza,

the rumour is in dutch but i will review it in english here, it was an article (from MOJO, local tour promotor) about the chili peppers selling out the goffertpark in a few minutes. Then it said also Aerosmith would give a concert here, and a major big third concert, but they couldn't say wich one, so it's not really sure but it's a rather big possibility it's the stones, afterall they are didn't announced the tour yet, the stones work with MOJO and they played the goffertpark in 95.. i let you do the math winking smiley

Whoa! I'm sorry I didn't mean any offence. Certainly not to Manhattan, it's people,Don Was or Stonesfrk. I just meant it sounded a bit more like a Barry Manilow-ish type of album title rather than a Stones title. Jesus that's the first time that someone's had a pop at me on this site. Gazza: Why'd you have to impart that info to me?

Disclaimer: No offence to Barry Manilow fans either.

Sorry for being behind on this thread, but the idea I get from looking it over is that someone (unknown) told a radio broadcaster that there will be a press conference to announce the tour on March 15? Is there something more than that? (apart from the alleged "details") ...was a time for this to happen on the 15th given? Whats the reason for believing this..im not clear....and skeptical by nature but hopeful always...
as in...Im still waiting for India and Thailand cancelled shows to come back...lol
but not understanding why it should be believed this will happen the 15th?
