GREAT store. Great prices. People who work for them love working there.

To "go out to a show to buy a shirt" is a hysterical comment as the Stones and the associated company (who you know nothing about) are the ULTIMATE greedy corporations unto themselves.

Quick story - I was backstage in 1989 and one of the top execs of the Stones' "clothing company" came up to me and noticed I had a Stones shirt on that was not "official" -- and yelled at me for that.

People who work there, love working there??????? WTF???

Who loves working for minimum wage with no health benefits??

Walmart pays wages so low, they give you a medicare form to fill out so the Gov't will pay your health costs.

Walmart is not employee friendly. Do some research.

The thing that you have to remember when criticizing people who work for WalMart is this:

Nobody drags people to the store and forces them to work there. I don't see anyone there with chains on their legs or someone standing behind them with a gun to their head forcing them to work.

When people go to work for WalMart they do so because they WANT to. If they don't like it they can leave and go work somewhere else. Simple as that. If you want to wrap tacos for $8.00 an hour and your happy do it.

Walmart creates a viscious cycle that traps poor people there. They are Evil.

Exactly! Look at when a new store opens and how many appliants there are compared to openings. People WANT to work there.

Also, since when did wages, health insurance and the like become a "right"? Hey, you want better health insurance, go get it yourself!!

Pretty soon people are going to be saying going to a Stones show is a right and demand they be free. Freakin' lazy people!

Good post Sicilian.
Hey Josh2131....Walmart provides an affordable alternative to the "poor people" you speak of...not to mention everyone else too. Go to Walmart and ask the employees and customers....don't assume that the politically generated anti-Walmart propaganda is the majority view.

Nobody forces people to shop or to apply for employment there.

Bingo, you're not understanding the brilliant Sweet Neo Con's thought process.

PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR THEM - this would mean the chinese peasants that earn about a dollar a week while they sew SNC's T-shirts and jeans together. It's called having a slave, a fine southern tradition that the right wing fundamentalist so long for. And if you even twist it and squeeze it the right way you can find in the bible were God approves of slaves and humans being treated as dogs.

LOVE WORKING THERE - a Dollar a week in China puts 7 days of rice and rat meat on the table for a family of 3, what's not to love !?!?

GREAT STORE - Yes, coming into town and putting all the Ma and Pa stores out of work is just good old American Capitalism. Especially when the store owners (the Walton family) are the 9th to 13th riches C*cksuckers in the WORLD !! That's what I call fair...Don't you?

GREAT PRICES - as SNC screams about the illegal aliens invading his fine land to perform cheap/slave labor in our strawberry fields. He secretly loves slavery, he just doesn't wanna watch it on his way to TACO BELL as he pollutes the planet with his giant SUV....

The Right - the Party of righteousness, morals, and GOD !!! Gimme a F*ckin BREAK !!!

I like shopping at Wal-Mart around 2am, that is the time when the local strippers do their shopping after they got off work. Trust me! You wanna see some eye candy go at 2am. If you go the other times of the day its like going to a Nascar event where each person is sloppier than the next.

I have bought three things, out of desperation, at wal-mart. 2 were returned. As the bumper-sticker reads, "Your source for cheap, plastic crap." Indeed. BUT, it does indeed provide much needed items, however poor in quality, for those who cannot afford to shop elsewhere. Here it is, plain and simple:

Buy stuff CHEAP overseas, hire CHEAP labor (way high turnover rate is necessary for Wal-Mart's success... if people REALLY loved working there, they would not QUIT all the time), sell it CHEAP in America, which by shear volume (How many Wal-Marts are there now?) yields gigantic profits. America loves Wal-Mart, because America doesn't care about cheap labor overseas and America doesn't care if the crap they buy is going to fall apart in a week. When that is your market, you will succeed.

Wal-Mart greedily exploits overseas workers, its own workers, and its own customers. That's profit-making, done the American way. If you can convince your market that your product is a better deal, then you win. Wal-Mart is winning, big time.

People don't WANT to work for WalMart. people just want a damn job. If that means working for the empire then so be it. there is nobody who dreams of sweeping the ailses specifically at Walmart. Everybody wnats a paycheck. You hit the States, you're squeezed into a 2 room apt with 12 other cousins and 3 of them work for Walmart. They can get you in there. That's why and how you end up working there. And how the Corp knows they can get by paying you a very low wage.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

"Yes, coming into town and putting all the Ma and Pa stores out of work"

Really? How do they do that? Please tell me. Wal-Mart does NOTHING of the sort. If the customers kept going to Ma and Pa it would be Wal-Mart that would go out of business, not Ma and Pa. The consumer, making a free choice, is what puts Ma and Pa out.

Hey, I will admit that shopping there is not much fun sometimes, their service sucks but for price...I will gladly put up with it.

Not saying Wal-Mart is perfect either. They have been called out on several issues but bottom line is that they ARE the perfect example of Capitialism.

They are victims of union propaganda.

If their employees have the skills, motivation and intelligence to find better jobs they are free to do so.

last time i went to walmart (proud to say i been there once in over 10 years) i thoguht the place sucked...

i went to see how great the stuff was.. i expected some incredible bargains.. i found a bunch of crap made in china....

i seem to remember we got an adam sandler dvd...

i hate the place.. but for a lot of americans walmart is the only place they can get what they need....

i'm glad to say there is no walmart in washington dc.

I wouldn't give them any of my money! I have never been in one, and will never go into one! Just because they can get away with not giving health benefits and paying minimum wage doesn't make it right.

They lower prices temporarily to drive the competitors and other stores out of business, then raise the prices. And, people have no where to go because they drove out the other businesses. Many communities in Northern California have not allowed them into their community due to these practices (and the healthcare thing).

Now, I must admit that I have been the president of my teachers union many times- so I have been swayed to the more socialist approach. All of our experiences make us who we are; and that's what makes the world great!

I think health is a human right and closely tied to the access you have to medical facilities, etc.

Do you seriously believe people choose to work for a low wage and no health insurance?
Next in this line of arguments: It's their own fault, they could've gone to a better university or they shouldn't belong to a minority...

Well, this is probably a prime example that the state should regulate economy up to a certain extend. Perhaps Wal Mart is a prime example for Capitalism, but I don't see that as a good thing...

By the way, your ultimate (left wing) hero - george soros -- owns $6.5 million in Walmart stock (and $106 milllion in RJR Nabisco TOBACCO).

So he's killing the economy and killing your people at the same time. Can someone spell "PHONY"?
