It's February and the tour starts in May ? hmmmm....save this, I get a feeling you'll be able to repost the same topic in late April.......

Rehearsals with Taylor are dragging, being a 3 piece guitar band takes some work.

Sure there will be a tour. I know for a fact they are working on show bookings right now. See IORR for updates. The most recent additions will be Düsseldorf and Göteborg. I am just too lazy to add them yet, but they will happen as well, most probably.

Article today in the Daily Star (UK) said The Stones will be touring in the summer and designing a different stage. It's gonna happen. Yes!!!! Ben

Any information on where they will open and when in early June will be most helpful for travel arrangements. I need to book soon or will have trouble getting off. Also, any speculation when it will end? August? Sept 1?

Late August? Or early/mid-Sep in the south?

If they are doing 20 or so shows, as expected, the tour should be over by the first week of August.

i'd plan to be in london the last 10 of may to catch the rehearsals...

at least thats what i heard...

Presuming this is a "new" tour, how many gigs before they break even? In the past, at least for Europe, they only started to make real profit after about half of the shows. Knowing the Stones these days, money is a big factor, so will it only be about 20 shows? Will it be enuff? Gothenburg in the end of June, around the traditional midsummer festivities? Where did that rumour come from? Answer: Somebody looked at BV:s rumoured dates, and came to the conclusion of late June for Sweden, near the midsummer festivities (old Viking tradition, that the christians could not kill). Then it leaked to some journalist. I would´nt bring that up here, if it was´nt such a believable scenario. It got the papers working, and they contacted the promotor, and they gave some positive answers ( not about the date date, though).

....Oh, OK, I thought we figured out it would have to be early May if it was to be 40 shows due to Football season/Stadium bookings in September or something.Now with BV's update and the understanding that June will be the first month I see that everything seems to be in order and ready for some more excellent shows ......ROCK ON BOYS !!!

yeah..it would - but the "40 shows" story has been pretty much long ago dismissed as wishful thinking on the part of some optimists.

Wouldnt really expect them to be touring for more than two months from early June, and probably less than that.
