Sly and the Family Stone (or should I say "the Family Stone Experience featuring Sly Stone" ?) at the beginning of September. Wouldn't be surprised if this ended up not happening so, failing that, the Black Crowes three days later.

Judas Priest, Thursday July 24 in Vancouver. Tickets only $21 but GM Place charges a $10 convenience charge, along with ticketmaster fee, etc. Should be a good show. I actually can't believe Priest tickets aren't selling very well when Iron Maiden just played here recently and they sold out.

let also not also forget his pre family stone production work with some of S.F.s 60s finest.

Hey Adrian, does Eel Pie island still exist? Is this club you're going to the fabled place on the water where bands like The Who used to play in the 60's? I've read about it on Wikipedia, but it was spoken about in the past tense, as if there's nothing there anymore. The venue apparently burned down and wasn't rebuilt.

Anyhoo, back to the thread question: my next concert, the good Lord willin' and the crick don't rise, will be a one-off gig by Bad Company on August 8th at the Hard Rock in Fort Lauderdale (actually Hollywood), Flo-rida.

No, this isn't (alas!) the old venue on the island, but a new club upstairs at a Twickenham pub about half a mile away - follow this link to see the history of Eel Pie Clubs old and new;

(See you there tonight, Adrian!)

Mavis Staples at Berns in Stockholm next friday aug 1. If the concert is only half as good as she was on the same stage last summer,I'll be more than happy.

you're in for a treat- the old sod was great,
last saturday, in Hackney, London.

Chris Jagger was a very good support act, too.

hi Claire, sadly the venue isn't on the island, anymore, but it is only a stones-throw away, and the music is (usually) rockin'.
Enjoy Bad Company.

and see you tonight, Greenlady.
Photo opportunity, with an "original" Rolling Stone?

I missed a couple of things I HAD planned on going to: Ringo; Crosby, Stills and Nash. Just made a last minute decision to see the Police, now in the final two weeks of their career, this Saturday.
