I also think it's a big mistake not to include the .org.

First of all, why would you think it's a website, if it doesn't say so.
Second, I think most people would go to iorr.com and when they see it's not a RS website, probably stop there.

Ferrante was my first customer.

Agreed. The web's a fickle place and if you don't attract views straight away surfers can easily move on to other sites?

So why make it awkward?

Even though I thought the Ferrante shirt was funny, I'll remove it, since this is a serious thread.

Yeah Ablett - I think it's a big mistake not to do this.

But perhaps bv doesn't want to attract new people?

yeah, i like www.iorr.org way better than "fan club", no matter how many words it is. :E
i really like both the front and back designs, Ablett, even though i'd rather have
nothing on the back and a better shot of Keith on the front.
thanks & praises for all the excellent designs you've proposed.
(sorry for repeating myself from the other thread, but i can't tell any more which thread is the "right" one!)

schillid,

When I see that shirt - for some reason I want to see "Outcasts all their lives" written on there too.

That would be cool.

yes, they definitely look cool and defiant laid out that way, and that would go along with the andrew oldham publicity...but of course, that's just a sham...they're really rock "royalty"

I don't see the point in having two T-shirt threads. Please do not mess up the board. You are giving me a hard time. Thank you.

PS. Anyone can make their own T-shirt, but there will only be one real IORR T-shirt. Coming to you here soon...

I understand people at age 40+ are getting mad by the thought of a T-shirt with "fan club" on it, so I will replace the text with "It's Only Rock'n Roll". Then it will serve the purpose perfectly:

- To tell you are an IORR regular
- To tell you are a Stones fan
- To help people finding IORR

This is the new design I think will work for everybody:

bv - I respectfully disagree, that it will help people find IORR. If I was walking around and saw that shirt (not knowing that this was for the fan club already), I would think it's just a shirt advertising the Rolling Stones, not this website.

You are right Cindy, I was thinking the same. Still like that design very much but would either like the website address or the fan club mentioned ( though I am 40+). After seeing abletts new design I am not so sure if I would even prefer this. It's really classy and says it all - I don't want to give bv an even harder time but I would suggest a vote between the two designs (schillid and ablett). Both designs are really good and I'm sure most of us would agree that these two are the best and should be in the final. Just a suggestion...

As for voting, would people rather have it be private, so we don't have to feel as though we're hurting someone's feelings if we vote for one shirt over the other?
Is this a "girl thing" to think about? Personally, I would feel badly since I know that everyone put a lot of work into it.

If bv doesn't want to be in charge of handling all the voting, I would offer to do it, or we can pick someone else, ain't no thang.

I think we are all mature enough not to feel like that. We all appreciate the great work and effort all our "designers" put into this project and the results are really great, but then a decision must be made.

Ok then either it's a girl thing, or I am the only immature one. OR.... maybe I'm the only one who cares about the feelings of others, yeah, that's probably it. :-)

Looks good to me. Personally I think having "www.iorr.org" on there would be better than "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll". If I was the webmaster I would want to promote my site (I don't think people will look at the words "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll" and automatically realize that's a website, particularly since it's better known as the name of a Stones song), but I'm not, so it doesn't really matter to me. Cool shirt nonetheless, I'll buy one.

BV - I agree with Cindy. This shirt does nothing to promote your website, which I think is one of the objectives of the project.

Adding ".org" directly below the right half of the "R" (above the "ll" in roll) with a font size that is about 1/2 that of "It's Only Rock'n roll" would do the trick.

> First of all, why would you think it's a website, if it doesn't say so.

Anyone being important have a web site these days.
And everyone knows that.
If you see a T-shirt and you see IORR,
then what do you think or do?
You go looking for it. On Google or Yahoo.
And you willfind IORR.org immediately.

If you see a guy with a T-shirt saying CBGB...
What do you do?
Or it's only rock'n roll?
You go searhing on the net.
And voila... there it is...

I think some people here are a bit ignorant.
IORR is not just a web site.
Since 1980 it has been a magazine.
Sure the web is important.
But the magazine came first.
The bomain name will not be in the shirt.
Sorry. This is 2007.
You don't see a shirt saying:

Coca Cola
www.cocacola.com

It is about branding.
You don't brand a domain name.
You brand what you are.
IORR
It's Only Rock'n Roll.
A very clear message.

WHATEVER - I certainly don't think that I am ignorant. I think it's a difference of opinion. I could say that you are pig-headed for ignoring everyone else's suggestions, but that would be impolite to start calling each other names now wouldn't it.

You are the webmaster, however, I feel that in this case you should apologize or edit that comment.

BV - So you know, my company uses a service called websense. If I type in iorr.com, the site is filtered because websense has identified it as a sex site.

Most people won't think to re-try it as iorr.org.

You're can take your shirt and shove it up your pompous ass.

Well, but then again Coca Cola is a global brand and IORR - well, is a combination of letters that doesn't tell much if you don't give the url...
I would also like to mention that the only potential customers of this t-shirt are people that read this forum, so it is perhaps not such a good choice to choose a design that doesn't really get agreement.

The difference is, there's only one Coca Cola. There's at least three meanings for It's Only Rock 'N' Roll:

1. It's a Stones song.

2. It's a Stones album.

3. It's a fan club/magazine/website.

I think more people are familiar with the song (which is played on classic rock radio all the time) than anything else.

I really think that both Shilid and Ablet's designs are better than the one BV has chosen.

And -- Shilid and Ablet -- I would encourage both of you to go ahead and produce some version of your shirt -- you may have to take the IORR off and any connection to the Fan Club/Fanclub -- but they are so good,

just FRIGGIN DO IT, I know I and several others would buy them from each of you.

Oh, BTW both of you - don't use that miserable picture of Keith, replace it with another

Ablet - DEFINITELY use the Aftermath type lettering -- it looks VERY cool and very 60s.

I've said my piece, but is the message getting outside THE PLEXIGLASS??!!

I concur with what Tim says. I've seen a number of shirt designs that I'd proudly wear, sans the connection to the web site. Some really cool work has been done here. It would be a shame for it to go to waste!
