Rick Rubin is okay...

But he always leaves 3 or 4 tracks on these albums that should be REMOVED...

He needs a "final editor" to be very critical and toss out the borderline stuff and his albums would be that much better.

Rubin and Lanois have a good record. IMO jack White needs to do a little more work.

steve earle's "i feel alright"
and many other steve albums...
no verb, vintage equipment...get's it right going IN...
keeps it right. the stones would be lucky to work with him...
and i don't think he'd stand for second rate material either.

and he also engineered/produced a lot of lucinda's 'car wheels on a gravel road'

You know this has never come up here but what if the twins would go out and produce someone the way they sued to do back inthe day. You know go in for real and rpoduce some new band's whole album.
