OT New Soprano Season

What is the deal with this new season? On the TV I have they have been advertising it like the second coming. So I', watching the first episode of this final season and it is all a rerun of the very first episode from Season 1. With Jr still a little fat kid and Meadow pre-op. It is all a exact repeat; am I missing the inside scoop?

Originally the last episodes were to air this January on HBO. But like the last season they will probably be delayed until March. Who knows maybe they changed their mind on the ending or decided to extend the series. I'm waiting myself.

The version they are showing on A&E is very heavily edited. No sex, violence or cussing is allowed. What else is there?

Quick question on The Sopranos: In Denmark we've reached the season that has the last episode ending with "Moonlight Mile". How many seasons/episodes are left from that point on?

They sure have hyped the $#&! out of it on A&E.
It's just a damn TV show. It's quite overrated, imo.

You're up-to-date. Six or seven episodes left in this upcoming mini-season, and supposedly that's it.

Gandolfini had knee surgery or something that was the delay i think...

I love the Sopranos; I guess because I'm from NJ lol... I have season 1 and 2 and just got season 3 on DVD (with the famous NJ pinelands episode) ... good stuff, cant wait for the new season, although I was a bit dissapointed in the last season...

I only started watching it a couple of months ago (on DVD) and I'm now halfway through Series 3.

Didn't think I'd like it, but have to say I'm hooked.

They're waiting for the Knights of Prosperity season to end to avoid any competition.

They shot some scenes in 2 ways, I believe. Scenes like in the Bada Bing club... one take with the strippers topless (for HBO)... and another take (for syndication) with the girls wearing tops (boo! hiss!)

They could have done second takes with toned-down dialog too.

You are probably right schillid. I forgot about that. But like you said. What's the fun in that?

My pleasure JJK. I had to think for a minute who Frank Vincent is-Phil Leotardo on the show. Yeah, I think it's got to end-up with New York vs. New Jersey: all-out war. My guess is that Phil will have Christopher "wacked", which will get things going.

I read somewhere (Wikipedia I think) that some major roles is gonna be killed off in the end. No word on who though.
I have to wait until the autumn to see the last episodes, or if things go really bad: Spring 2008. Danish TV stations are so slow when it comes to these things.

HBO Sets Sopranos Date
By James Hibberd
The final nine episodes of "The Sopranos" will debut April 8, along with the start of the third season of "Entourage."

The announcement was made by HBO CEO Chris Albrecht at the network's Television Critics Association press tour session.
Mr. Albrecht added that "Sopranos" showrunner David Chase, who wrote and directed the show's pilot, will also write and direct the finale.
"Sopranos" will run through June, after which David Milch's new surf-noir drama "John From Cincinnati" will take its slot.

One More for 'The Sopranos'
Final run extended to nine episodes, begins April 8
January 12, 2007

'The Sopranos'LOS ANGELES -- The last ride for "The Sopranos" is still scheduled for this spring, but creator David Chase couldn't quite let go with eight episodes.

As such, HBO has added a ninth episode to the show's final run, which also now has a definite premiere date: Sunday, April 8.
"Entourage" will also return that night, wrapping up its third season with eight episodes.
For those of you marking your calendars, then, that's 86 days until Tony (James Gandolfini) and Co. grace the screen again.
When the show left off last June, the Soprano family was celebrating Christmas and things seemed to be going rather well:
Tony seemed to have reached detente with Phil Leotardo (Frank Vincent), Carmela's (Edie Falco) spec house was back on track and AJ (Robert Iler) had both a job and a girlfriend.
The show's history suggests, though, that good times aren't meant to last.
On the minus side of the ledger, Christopher (Michael Imperioli) has relapsed into heroin use and begun an affair with a fellow addict (Julianna Margulies),
tensions between the New York and New Jersey crews linger, and there are those two mysterious guys who hang out at the Bada Bing.
As for "Entourage," it will resume with Vince (Adrian Grenier) having fired his agent Ari (Jeremy Piven) and struck out on his own.
The show has been picked up for a fourth season, which is likely to premiere later in the year.
