The new Tom Waits "Orphans" CD. Good one, but there's 2 problems with it:
1.- You can sometimes hear why he left some stuff out (Of course).
2.- First time I heard it I heard all 3 discs in a row and felt very bummed out and depressed, because of the nature of Waits' songs.

Edit: Didn't see the car thing. I don't own a car, so I guess there's nothing in my car stereo right now. smiling smiley

Especially the guitars at 2.07 .... 2.30 where Keith &

Yes, especially Green Shield Stamps with all these recollections. How would you feel listening to the song as his mother or if you are among the friends of youth he mentions?

I played Treasure Island after I was told he died. Quite upsetting, knew him for 7 years.

I saw him live twice in late 2004 (so sad he didn't come close to my place later on). I had read about him in the iorr magazine and went there with a friend of mine without knowing a single note of his music. But: GREAT, I HAD SEEN THE FUTURE OF ROCK'N'ROLL! We took pictures and wrote an article for the newspaper.
We talked in his 'wardrobe' and he signed that iorr magazine where he was reviewing some concerts and was photographed standing in the front row. That was an electric set. Some months later he played in my town on a birthday party an acoustic set but he 'allowed' us to come. He covered As Tears Go By in his unique way.
We stayed in contact by e-mail amd letter, he even send me the chords to his songs. (Oh, I better stop or this will fill pages). To all the others on this board: Buy his records, you won't regret it and raise your glasses!
Such a nice man.
