Gothenburg Saturday June 19th. 1982. Ticket price 100 Swedish kroner. 18 years old and travelled from Oslo on a bus with a lot of other Stones fans. The gates opened at 10am, show starting at 1pm, Stones went on around 7pm if I'm not remembering wrong.

July 8, 1978 (78 - 78) at Soldier Field in chicago. Got a free ticket outside the Stones' hotel from someone...don't even remember who.

I think youre right. Gun were the opening act up until Glasgow on 9th July I think (their hometown gig) and then Dan Reed did the rest of the tour (it was 1990 of course, not '89). Cardiff was meant to be 11th July and was rescheduled to the 16th.

My first gig was at Slane Castle on 24th July 1982. The village has a population of about 500 people, but has 6 pubs. About 70-80,000 turned up. I'm right down the very front somewhere. Mick even hosed me with water.

Great one storm, funny as a concert. The blitz on the hill of Paris called " Mont'Valérien" was a fantastic pic !!! So then you missed the first gig : heavy hot weather. The 2 concerts were packed.

Newcastle 23rd June 1982. Pretty good show but nothing spectacular. Two days later at Wembley Stadium they were outstanding, it was almost like watching a different band. Still one of my top 5 Stones shows.

How far in advance did you have to show up there to get in the front?

I have never attended such a venue so I am wondering.

L.A. Sports Arena 65' Stoned, faraway seats, pretty much a thirty minute blur.
Hollywood bowl 66' about the same but better seats. Back then everything seemed to happen so fast and the crowd noise was to much.

Auburn, Alabama Nov. 1969 Two Shows, Same setlist for both.

Hull ABC, 21st September 1964 - this concert was the first colour film of the band playing live, and clips appear in various documentaries - Mick wore a white cardigan, Brian in a striped T-shirt. Very exciting, but you couldn't hear much because of the girls screaming - as they used to say about Beatles concerts, there wasn't a dry seat in the house!

Oslo, Norway. June 24th 1965, First show. I was 7, and the second show was, unfortunately, past bedtime...

Wembley 1995

Rotterdam '03, first night. I woke up in the late nineties, when the papers and TV-news showed photographs and short footages of the No Security-shows.
Friends who had seen them in Amsterdam and The Hague were so excited!
So I decided to make a jumpstart in 03 with three shows in one week. Good choice...

surprisingly, not that early on that occasion. Must be an Irish-thing - lots of people wanting to hang around and get drunk first...LOL. I think the gates opened about 12 or 12.30 and our bus had deposited us there just before that. The biggest problem after getting in wasnt getting to the front but running down that hill at about 60 miles per hour without breaking my ankle!

At the VL tour finale in Rotterdam in '95 I was down near the front too - 2nd row and off to the side a bit - but we were queuing outside for 3 hours before the gates opened on that occasion. Dont think I'd do that again, though!

Hyde Park 1969. Travelled with two friends. Close to the stage a lot of people were recording the show with portable reel to reel machines and also cassette recorders. I gave out my home adress 5 times at least because all those people promised to send me a copy of their tapes, but noone did which still pisses me off when I think of it! One of my friends even saw them as early as 1965, he also mentioned that he saw lots of people recording, even with microphone stands so everybody could see, but it was no big deal as this was way before the term 'bootleg' became famous...wonder where all those mid-60's tapes ended. Probably people erased them because due to all the screaming girls they sounded shitty.
