They didn't play Germany for some years, we were teens and couldn't expect the day to see the Stones for the first time live. The Tongue in shape and design was the ticket.

We met the evening before, at home of a friend. His mother went out for the evening. We occupied the kitchen and baked a cake with some very special stuff inside. MAnaged it with smoking a bit special and leaved the cake to cool down. At night a knocking at the door - mother steped smiling in: "Hi you perfect bakers, very well tasting cake - I tried a piece. But I feel a little bit confused... maybe to much drinks... I had to go to bed." Our hearts were pumping, but after closing door we went laughing on the ground... Beware of cake mother - Stones are in town :-)

Other things I remember: some stupid idiot of manager booked Peter Maffay (a German piece-of-shit singer) for opening. When playing the 3th song - if I remember right, or was it the second? - he couldn't stand longer; not only the yelling and whistling - more the tomatoes, apples and other stuff raining on his head. He still has tears in his eyes if he tells this story "I loved the stones, was their greatest fan - why they put me down?" (because your music was, is and will ever be a big piece of crap Peter ;-))

Aah, saw a brother down this tread, JR64. I am also a JR but 62 model and i did catch then in Göteborg in 1990 for the first time as well, second night. So, I am kind of "just joined da gang" guy. Well 18 gigs down the road, I have seen them a few times.
I was about to go and see them in 1982 but I was doing my time in the Finnish Army and for some reason my Captain did not understand my application for five days of holiday, reason being Da Rolling Stones. Strange guy... hmm..

Knewbworth, 1976. I was only 15 but able enough to notice that Ronnie was marvellous and Keith's play bad...

Madison Square Garden on Thanksgiving Day in 1969. I was 16 and went with my 19 year old brother. I only saw them earlier on their Ed Sullivan show performances as my Aunt worked as an usher and she got me and my cousin tickets whenever they appeared.

BTW, glad to see so many people having their first connection with the Stones, as live act, in 1989, 1990, 1995, 1998, or even in 2006. Despite the nostalgia for small venues, the years of massive tours, since 1989, are making a notable number of new -and younger- fans...

I remember everything from that day, including leaving a giddy voice-mail to my friend that I was going to the concert with as Mick and Keith.

I remember what I wore. What it felt like. How tired I was afterwards.

It was the only experience in my life that wasn't actually it that felt the most like just having had the best sex in my life. No other experience has provided me with that type of high.

My first Stones concert was at Råsunda stadium, in Stockholm, september 1970.
(Normally I don't wish I was older but, had I been just a little bit older I might have had my first Stones concert experience a couple of years earlier and have had the opportunity to see the original setting including Brian.)

Well I turned up for the Urban Jungle Gig at Cardiff 1989 that was cancelled due to Keith cutting his finger then the rescheduled one a week later (don't remember support but it could have been the Dan Reed Network?)

They did 3 wembley stadium shows on that tour. Thats a lot of people...

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!

Buffalo, 7/4/78...Drove all night to get there. The stadium was packed and we had to sit thru some lame warmup groups but the Stones were great. Always wondered if there was a boot floating around on that one...
