What's the story with "BB"?
Posted by: carson99 ()
Date: November 16, 2006 08:55

Between the Buttons; Beggars Banquet; Black and Blue; Bridges to Babylon; a Bigger Bang, etc., etc. (I hear that Goat's Head Soup was almost called Boarshead Broth) ... even in Out of Time, Mick seems to sing "... you're out of touch my BB ..."

What does it all mean?

That's the bra cup size the boys secretly love but they made a mistake not realizing that there isn't a BB size. BB is actually a C cup but what they really meant was Double D (AKA - DD). Somewhere along the line the smack and acid got them confused so they never made the corrections....another mystery solved in the mytical land of sex, drugs, and Rock'n' Roll.......

I am fairly sure that these will help:

<Answer 1>

<Answer 2>

Once upon a barren moor
There dwelt a bear, also a boar,
The bear could not bear the boar,
The bear thought the boar was a bore.
At last the bear could bear no more
That boar that bored him on the moor.
And so one morn he bored the boar-
That boar will bore no more!

It's a career-long nod to the brilliance of Blonde on Blonde (Between the Buttons, released just after that Dylan album, was the first of the Stones' twin B titles). They continued the homage to Dylan with the jewels and binoculars hanging from the Ya-Ya's mule (1970), and of course with the cover of Like a Rolling Stone (1995. I think).

Monkeylad's is actually a somewhat reasonable explanation, I suppose.

LARS is written as a hommage to RS aint it?
To put it smoothly I believe you overestimate Zimmy's impact here...

someone asked the Stones about this during the press conference last december announcing the european leg of the tour.
they responded by enumerating some of the BB titles - including Blow Me Baby :E - but declined to comment or explain.

now you're just stating the obvious.

Many people don't realize that BLACK AND BLUE was almost named SLACK & GLUE.
Thank god for the BB.
