Completely Off Topic: The Velvet Underground

I do have a 5 cd box-set of The Velvet Underground, titled "Peel Slowly And See" and released in 1995 by Polygram Records/Polydor.
This box-set also contains a 84 pages booklet.
My booklet is missing pages 75-80, with the essential information about recording dates and places of disc 1 to 4.
Would anybody in possession of this box-set be so kind to mail me the scans of these missing pages?
Many thanks in advance !

Cheers, Rob.

Yes. But it's funny that the two song's riffs doesn't really sound alike.

I know. I definitely remember the interview, though (it was in a UK music weekly when Emotional rescue came out). Thought it a weird comparison, myself - but there ya go

Absolutely.
This is re-affirmed for me every time I hear "I Heard Her Call My Name".
And then, my mind split open.

It's nice to know there are many VU-fans among the Rolling Stones fans, but does anyone have the 5cd-boxset with the booklet pages I'm looking for?

All the best,
Rob.

Not the riff, just the intro (and they sound extrememly similar, you can hear what he meant), that repeated guitar note. It's only the first 3 or so seconds.

Payback for "There She Goes Again" I might add!

Rob, the mail where I sent you the scans seems not to be working.
So, I uploaded the images here:

I found this on www.timeisonourside.com :

"I mean, even WE'VE been influenced by the Velvet Underground... I'll tell you exactly what we pinched from (Lou Reed) too. You know Stray Cat Blues? The whole sound and the way it's paced, we pinched from the very first Velvet Underground album. You know, the sound on Heroin. Honest to God, we did!"

- Mick Jagger, 1977

Not only are the Stones the greatest band on earth, their fans are the best too!!
Many thanks Niebla for getting me the scans.
I've been out all day, so I saw your scans just minutes ago, that's why you had to wait so long before I could show my gratitude.
My e-mail ([email protected]) seems to work real fine, as I receive mail throughout the day.

I've got this bootleg of the VU, called Something Different.
Demo's from the early years and live stuff.
I'd like to send you a copy of it, if you haven't got it yet.
Please try to reach me privately.

Cheers, Rob.

Niebla, I also got a bootleg dvd "Velvet Underground Anthology 1966-1980".
Maybe you're interested in this one?

Cheers, Rob.

wanna hear of the crime of being misunderstood in your own time: met a gent once from New Hampshire.......said he saw The V.U. in a small club on the East Coast U.S.....around '67-'68?........he went on to say that there were about 15 people in the audience that night

quite a regular occurrence. I think they didnt actually play in New York between 1967 and 1970 until they did that Maxs kansas city stand. The great "1969" live album was recorded in Texas, of all places.

The Velvets (and reed for that matter) have generally been more appreciated in Europe than in the US, and for longer as well.

Theres that old cliche, that hardly anyone ever saw the VU play, but of those that did, it seems that pretty much every one of them formed a band.

The Velvets couldnt play their way out of a paper bag....just a Warhol plaything....

Lou, to this day, cant carry a tune....
