Fleetwood Mac sold more than the Stones and The Beatles in 1968?? I find that hard to believe...especially with The Beatles White Album and Hey Jude (one of England's top selling 45's)...
none the less The Stones have been very adept at having the guitarist they need for the times....Talyor was perfect fro '69-74 and Woodie fell right into place afterwards...
Also I have to disagree that Woodie tries to "copy" Mick Taylor's leads...I mean he often will follow some of the same structure, but also brings his own style...like CYHMK...he adds a whole other degree of raunchy Face's like aspect to what was under Taylor a more latinesque Blues approach. Both are great!

Ronnie, at one time, was the comedic foil to Mick and the musical foil to Keith. Now, I sense that the man has fully recognized his vital importance, so he's cut down on the clowning.
I love Ronnie. He's my favorite Stone. Really, though, it has taken him years to emerge out of Keith's shadow. I was so happy when they finally, belatedly, made him a full partner in the group. It took literally decades for that to happen.
..... i appreciate mr. woods immensely, , anyone who can hang with mick and keith this long is very special, review history and you'll see its easier said than done,,, even thou he has apparently drank his way thru, what else would ya expect one ta do,, ,, especially a rolling stone,
Right on bassplayer!! I couldn't agree with you more!
Ronnie is also my favorite Stone. In fact .... for the upcoming Vancouver show I passed on closer seats dead center on Keith's side for ones a few rows back dead center on Ronnie's side. Since he handles most of the solos, he can mesmerize me time and time again!
