How 'bout "Highway 61" and "Maggie's Farm" as great examples of fok moving in a pop/rock direction?

In the Sixties those two songs plus, of course, and most importantly then "Like a Rolling Stone" really grabbed teenage minds. "Wow! Haven't heard anything like this on the radio before."

As most Dylan fans know, he credits Jerry Garcia and The Grateful DEad for getting him back in tour mode. Jerry loved Bob, and we know Bob the recluse hardly goes to any functions.

Dylan attended Garcia's funeral, that was a mighty tip of the hat to Jerry. Bob once said of Jerry.."He plays my songs better then me"

Anyway, this is a great album...Jerry and Dylan are kindred spirits. I was lucky to see the entire tour back in 87. (GD and Dylan)...ok back to original question...here's my top 10 at the moment.

4th Time Around (This and Crazy Fingers, GD song, are my most cherished songs)
Tough Momma
Ballard of a Thin Man
Pos. 4th Street
Simple Twist of Fate
Idiot Wind
Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
Seven Curses
Going Going Gone
Like a Rolling Stone

One could easily add another 10....that's for another day. LOL

good call Bingo (I have a dog by that same name-o). You saw the whole Dylan/Dead tour? Excellent....and I'm guessing you read Bob's book Chronicles Vol. I? It seems as though Bob had an epiphany about the future of his touring and his singing technique and it was all because of how much he learned from hanging with the Dead. That was really fascinating reading to me.

As for the tour in 1987, I missed it. But I had some buddies that saw them in DC.... I heard some great stories.

Hey Pie1, if you like the Biograph version (which I believe is from the original version of Blood On The Tracks), check this one out:

The most powerful version of it I've ever heard.

Thanks a lot. A magnificent version indeed.
As for the one on Biograph, it's from the New York sessions of Blood On The Tracks, and not the one on the actual album.

Well I'll give you ten but that's impossible with the stones and it's definitely impossible with BOBBY D! This could all change in a blink of a cat's eye!

1: Senor (Street Legal)
2: Most of the Time (Oh Mercy)
3: Love Minus Zero No Limit (MTV Unplugged)
4: Down In The Flood (Live Version Masked & Anonymous)
5: Blind Willie McTell (Bootleg Series 1-3)
6: Man In Me (New Morning)
7: Boots Of Spanish Leather (Version from the Point Theatre Nov 2005)
8: Spirit On The Water (Modern Times)
9: Sweetheart Like you (Infidels)
10: Shooting Star (MTV Unplugged)

I could go on and on and on and on there's just so many he's miles ahead of the rest!!

This is too damn easy.

And right after I'm done, I'll offer up my ten favorite words in the English language.

Translation: yer killin' me here.

Although, Don't Think Twice It's All Right can't be beat.

And then there's

Just Like a Woman
It Ain't Me Babe
Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You
Like A Rolling Stone
Visions of Johanna
Hurricane
I and I
All Along The Watchtower
I'll Be Your Baby Tonight
Redemption Song . . . oops, wrong Bob.

Ask me tomorrow for a different ten.
