Personally, I dont watch a Rolling Stones DVD to look at the audience. Maybe you do, but I suspect youre alone. So, as the audience isnt or shouldnt be a major part of the film, its pretty reasonable to wish for it to be consisted of people who have a strong desire to be there and dont have to be paid to put on some phoney act for the cameras. Its a rock n roll show last time I looked, not a f**king fashion shoot. Seriously, if you cant grasp that and see the bigger picture here, youve totally lost the plot. Funny that you choose to bash people for moaning when youre doing it more than anyone else, mate.

I'd rather watch the Rolling Stones play a show in front of Rolling Stones fans instead of a bunch of hired bimbos who are only there to give a few shallow arseholes with no grasp of the whole concept of rock n roll something to have a w**k over while theyre watching it.

Id dearly love to hear your reaction if a similar thing happened next year at a theatre show in London, and you - a fan - were standing outside for hours waiting in vain for a ticket to be released and a few bubble headed bimbos got ushered in in front of you because it was going to look better on TV

I honestly did not think that things could get any worse, but seriously this is an all-time low. An absolute nadir in their career.

Hiring an "audience" of young bimbos to dance along to Jagger's Let's Work on the UK's Top of The Pops programme may have been one thing, and perhaps even appropriate for it's intended audience, but this is something else altogether.

We've arrived at a situation where not only do they treat us (the fans) like shit, but to add insult to the ever growing list of injuries, they now regard us as being too old and ugly to feature in their films.

As for the "boys" themselves, it serves only to make them look like a bunch of sad, pathetic, dirty old men. Unhealthy ones at that.

I think you're missing the point, which is the music and access for fans to enjoy seeing and hearing a live performance. And I was in there so I'm not moaning on my behalf but on behalf of all those who had a genuine desire to be there and yet were denied access to any seat at all - front row or otherwise - because of places taken up by the hired help. Anyone who sets store by what the audience looks like is a goddam idiot.

i have to admit to thinking al the same thiongs you have said here, but much to my surprise i ddi noice some of the front row models singing along at times during the show. The cynical side of me thinks, though, it is quite possible that they were given lyric sheets and told to memorize them before the show.

Not only was the entire frist row models but then there was the trqacks for the camera behind them and behind that the second row, so the camera shots from behind them wil reveal what appears to be an entire audience of young hot girls!

As it has been said I would remark:

1st .- They thought it was a good idea placing models FOS. It worries me...

2st .- They did not think about it. Someone else was aproved to decide placing models FOS. It worries me more.

3rd.- They don´t care we fans realize about this fake / shameless situation (except for that shidobee fan in upper right of the picture). It increasingly worries me.

4th.- They think people buying the dvd are really naive. It worries me more and more.

5th.- They are embarrased about the average looks of their fans. Mnnn thank you Keith, thank you Mick.

6th.- They think we are fools. It may be true as I am going to buy the dvd anyway...(my god....).

7th.- If they think so much we are a bunch of naive fools for so many reasons, it worries me a lot as they should begin to look themselves at the mirror and realising who are really the fools.

Wrap up: All this issues mean that they feel UNSECURE about themselves and about showing the tour as really it is.

Their music forgives their beheaviour.

No, not at all. We were just being extremely silly and exuberant and giving the palms a little New York City "airing" after their outings to Twickenham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Cardiff back in August. Their next Stateside outing is to Atlantic City, and they'll also be visiting Vancouver. They didn't so much get waved "before" the show as "during" it, we were up on the balcony with all the other ugly bastards - but I have been told that several mobile cameramen/women filmed us waving them around at various times throughout the show.

I just posted these words on another thread...young Drake was a 'hired' extra and I wrote this to his [very good] posted review...but...hell...it applies to this thread even more.

And after looking at the great, sad, tragicomic picture provided on this thread...those PPYT [paid pretty young things] half-assedly lifting their scrawny arms in mock excitement at Mick's precense...whilst completely ignoring Keef riffing at the lip of the stage...WHAT AN INDICTMENT ON THE ENTIRE FARCE!!!!!!!!!

Scorsese should get his money back!!! Stones fans know how a front of stage crowd reacts when the Stones are on...and we know that these plastic pretty people are doing a miserable impersonation of how Stones fans REALLY act. Amazingly lame...and I would have fired all of them on the spot.

I wrote [a few minutes ago] "Did the Stones have such a hard time finding a younger demographic willing to see their show in New York City to 'act' like fans that they had to go to Kentucky to find appropriate candidates?

I ask because I was a fashion model for 17 years. I worked all over the world. And knowing how vapid and void most models are...and taking into account that most models [the skinny, long-legged girls that Drake refers to] are in their early 20's and think the Stones are something their parents grooved to back in the 60's/70's/80's...well, who are we fooling here, Mick and Martin?

I am now a director myself and I find it repulsive that the Stones and Scorsese [one of my favorite directors...I know all his films and even studied his work in Film School] deemed it necessary to artificially represent a Rolling Stones concert-crowd. I am puzzled by this decision. I've been to nearly 50 Stones shows in the last 30 years...and the crowds do seem to be getting older...but not ancient! And I always see a lot of attractive younger people at these concerts. Why the need to put on this farce?

Perhaps the front rows need a bit of a 'fresher' demographic for a film...but this effect could be achieved if the Stones would simply lower the ticket price on some shows so that the front of stage tickets can also be afforded by younger fans...instead of us older and somewhat wealthier sorts.

I am happy for Drake...I just find this entire exercise pathetic and distasteful. I congratulate Drake for his good fortune and his good taste in music...but hiring models and actors to play 'fans'? I find this pathetic."
