Just wondering if anyone here has met the Stones backstage this tour before a show. I've heard they have photo-ops with VIP but that there are no autographs or personal cameras allowed. They have a professional photographer take your photo and email it to you later.

If you've been lucky, what are they like backstage? Do they met people individually, shake hands, etc?

I have not been backstage this tour but I have met them at the hotel. Met Charlie and Ronnie up close and personal the day after the Super Bowl show. I shook both of their hands and had them sign a program. I told Ronnie that I was part of the crowd at the Super Bowl show. And he asked me how did I like it. In addition, he thanked me for being part of the event. I wish I would of had my camera with me.

I also saw Mick and Keith but it was brief no hand shake or autograph.

I met Chuck, grunted a "Hey" to Blondie, saw Bobby Keys, and spoke with Alice Cooper backstage in the Rattlesnake Inn - pre-Halifax show. Woody looked in at one point, maybe while I was eating the great food, so I missed him. What struck me about it all is that, in spite of how extra-ordinary a setting it was (the fact that I was there), it was all so very ordinary. People were just going about being people. Chuck was friendly. So was Alice. It got me thinking. I know that if Mick or Keith had come in, it would have been no big deal. Exciting yes, but it would have been them as people, not the images we all have of them. It was a safe environment for them to be just themselves with none of that "star" crap.

Met Keith backstage at MSG. He was very cordial. It was very close to show time. Had a beer then left didn't want to over stay my welcome . Don't really want to go in to details on how this came about.Was really an awesonme experience!!!

I wish I could meet the Stones personally to . Probably never happen to me though. Would be a nice Christmas gift though to meet the Stones.. WOW!!!!!

I would really like that. Man you people who did meet them , wow what an honor and a priviledge to.

i have read many posts here and on other sites about people being 'backstage' i.e., the Rattlesnake but while that would be very cool and i wouldnt turn down a chance to be there... thats not really backstage is it? i mean yea, you would run into chuck and blondie or maybe even Darryl or Lisa but the Stones dont hang there, they hang in the real backstage area where no one except family is allowed... am i right or what?? not like the old days...

the Rattlesnake is a PR thing for certain people, thas all... to be really backstage, all access etc, you need to be related to the boys or someone pretty dam important to them i think...

so that lets most of us out haaaa

I know at the Rattlesnake at the Hollywood Bowl, that both Mick and Ronnie went in to it. I did not go in myself, but it was located outside the venue and over the 2 nights, both Ronnie and Mick walked right past me. Both ignored requests to autograph. The funny thing was when I saw Mick, he was leaving the Rattlesnake along with a girl (not L'Wren), 1 bodygaurd and 1 Hollywood Bowl security guy. They walked right past a lot of people arriving for the show and I think no one other than me realized who had walked right past.

A friend of mine found a Rattlesnake pass on the ground after the first show and used it to get in before the show on the second night. He got free food and was eating next to Jim carrey and a few other celebrities. He did not see any of the Stones during the time he was in there.

well, i think Mick & Ronnie might have been just passing thru really...most of the post i have seen from people about the Rattlesnake is they met Chuck and Blondie and maybe talk to Darryl but if the boys are there its just passing thru with a smile and a wave... they dont hang out there, they have their own backstage, thats the impression i get...

but i have never been so what the hell do i know haaaa

No, I was a guest of a friend ofthe band. We went to say hello and went into Keith's room. We were offered a drink which we had and being it was very close to show time didn't stick around. Just believe it was the thrill. Other details I prefer to keep private.

I never have, but my Uncle Bob and Aunt Deb met them and many other rock n' roll characters in the 60's. My aunt and uncle worked the psychedelic light show projector. What that entailed was projecting a colored gel-blob on to a screen behind the band and it looked like a pulsating amoeba.

As far as their personal encounters with the Stones, WHO, Hendrix, Kinks, etc...they said there was a lot of incoherent speech and vomiting, But they still reminisce with a deep fondness.

Always kind of the "Holy Grail" of experiences. Never have come close, but if I ever got a chance to meet a Stone. It would be Keith, and I probabky would say what an earlier poster had to say. Hey Keith, thanks for rockin, keep it up. What more needs to be said?

Yeah, I met them backstage at a meet and greet in Horsen, Denmark on Sep. 3rd. Keith was very happy, laughing a lot, Charlie was quiet and extremely polite, Ronnie smiled but didn't say a single word and Mick...well, Mick was VERY rockstar'ish. Mick was very kind and smiling....BIG, BIG moment for me!!

We (Jack, Rob and I from the Vikings) met Mick in the lobby of the Carlyle Hotel in NYC in january. I stretched my hand out and said "Hey Mick" and hoped for a handshake. He slowly shaked his head and answered politely but firm "No".

And just when he entered the elevator Rob said "Very good show last night" and Mick answered "Thank you" and then dissappeard.

Very very brief but still a meeting though!
