Duplicate topics on IORR
Posted by: bv ()
Date: September 24, 2006 23:17

I have noticed that some people are playing games on IORR making identical repeated posts, only changing one part of the subject. If I see that happening I will delete the user who start these posts. And all the posts. I will NOT allow people to mess upo the forum. And there will be no discussion or pardon.

bv, you should count how many times you wrote basically the same, mostly defending horrible setlists ;-)

Which ones? Those who defend the setlist or those who don't?

Rooster, I think BV means that people who do duplicate threads from now on, will be banned. Not the people who did it a few hours ago.....

I 100% agree. It's annoying looking through the same posts over and over.

Those kinds of threads piss me off and IMO, turn any forum into a dead, uninteresting wasteland.

I don't get it. I think that whole "Best Thing" deal is actually a good bunch of threads. each one of them is interesting, Stones related etc.

It is very simple. It is about respect. Most people do understand when a series of posts or topics are more annoying than interesting. And please don't make jokes about the webmaster. If he is in a bad mode he might close down IORR permanently and declare YOU as the reason for it. Just looking for a good reason you know.

How many times do we have to go over this. BV doesn't want the inmates running the asylum,so to speak. He wants his site kept with his rules. It's simple actually.

It's not about mood but about time. Every time some "clever" guy make a stunt here on IORR it makes half an hour of extra work for me - from my private time - and that is why I am now much faster in deleting users who don't pay any respect. IORR is not Harlem in the 80's. It is a place for people who want to talk. There is still plenty of room, but not for mess-up and insults. I think 99% of everyone get it, and for the remaining 1% I make this perfectly clear, so that getting deleted i.e. closed out from posting here doesn't come as a big surprise. IORR is a very open and liberal place but there are limits. Of course.

It's always the same around here. Every time Bjornulf explains the rules of this Forum, someone feels attacked and start bashing him. Is it that hard to say sorry and move on?

Everyone knows the rules. And Bjornulf is a decent and patient guy. But if you really mess up, you get deleted. Don't say you didn't know and act like a child. Just respect him and the rest of us.

There's plenty of sites to fool around on whatever topic, or start your own. Or bash your boss, your wife, your mother in law... Just don't mess up here!

I accept the rules completely and enjoy posting here, but, the can't help but feel that it's getting quite serious. I, for one, don't come here to be serious. I enjoy reading and replying to posts about the band. If I see a duplicate post I just move on. I don't get angry! I am also aware that bv puts alot of work into this site and probably has a full life outside of it aswell and does not need any more work piled on, but, this is quite strict!!!

The topics about 'Best Thing' were a nice read. Don't think it was a game from the other Shrimp!
