The "Best thing" topics were very good, I didn't see the problem? There were some cool discussions goin' on about Mick, Keith, Brian, Charlie.. Bjornulf if you haven't got the time to read the topic and just look at the topic title, don't remove it.

I don't mean to be so negative...but I thought those "Best things" threads were....you know..a little...you know.

Re. my quote: "IORR is not Harlem in the 80's.."

we were taking a cab up to Shea Stadium fall 1989.
The cab driver was offering us a joint.
He was smoking it himself while driving.
As we passed through Harlem it was like a war zone.
Abandoned cars in the streets everywhere.
And back to Manhattan one of my friends got robbed in a store.
Another night I took the underground. Weired back then.
When I walked to MSG from 45th st on the non-show day
to see Rangers vs. Islanders it felt a bit odd,
but I survived obviously. These days it's all different.
I know how it was, and I don't want to have that feeling here on IORR.

That's not as bad as the time I was in a cab driving through Central Park at midnight or so, and my cab driver turned out to be completely drunk, and kept nodding off. He hit one of the concrete dividers (bumped it really) which luckily woke him up. I couldn't even grab the wheel because of the plastic divider.

As soon as we got to the West side, I had him pull over so I could get out, but not before I screamed my head off at him.

yeah hehehehe - I say that one a lot still.

Another one that we use a lot is: "I wish I was a loofah"

or...."Have you ever been convicted of any felonies?"

"Convicted? No, not actually convicted."

You don't go thru Harlem to get to Shea Stadium. You go thru Harlem to get to YANKEE Stadium...maybe your cab driver got lost.

Stripes, what a great movie. Partially filmed in Louisville, you know. Proof positive that once every 20 years or so something cool happens in my hometown.
