My Girlfriend says that "It is'nt healthy to talk so much about a band".
Is she right. I told her that for me, the Stones are more than a band.
They're part of my life. I love going to their shows, as does she, but
she thinks that we're all too involved. Who's right?

You shouldn't be asking us, we're all equally nuts. She's right, ofcourse!! It's everything but healthy. But do we care?! Hell no!!

It is not normal but it does not affect your health.

Your girlfriend is. Even though I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm a lost cause, however. All you have to do is accept you are too.

I'd rather stand at a Stones concert than sit at home watching TV. Either way I'm rotting away. Why not have a hell of a time while I dispose of this earthly carcass?

Yes, like a girl with a moustache, or having eleven toes.

Poor girlfriends who say we're spending too much time on the stones, including this forum. They're not in the focus all of the time.

But of course it's much better sit beside them and watch thousands of soaps on TV!!!

Does any of you get company of your girlfriend on a show?
Mine wouldn't go at all. "It's your thing the Stones," she said, "you go!"

But wouldn't it be nice to spend one of the greates moments in life together with the person you love (or are supposed to love)?

I have to go by myself every time, but if she want to go somewhere, I have to come with.
Women - I don't get it, what's in their heads, I'm sure I'll never understand...

Its not normal but who cares. I am just glad there are other people like me out there. Imagine being like we are with the Stones for a band like Poison. And I am sure there are people like that out there.

My girlfriend likes the Stones and has come to shows with me, but I try not to talk about them too much with her because I am sure it can get annoying. I save that for my buddy who I turned into a Stones freak like me.

You should have heard me all excited when these Steel Wheels outtakes came out, I tried to explain why I was so excited to her and she just looked at me like I had two heads.

it is not normal but i cant help, it is part of my life and women (single individuals as we are) can understand because they're not different, each person has his / her own addictions
my wife is a gender studies scholar and english literature professor and she's literally in love with Robert Louis Stevenson, she made me (re)read him. I like him a lot, she loves him. And so she loves many different things, some i give a try some i dont, some i like some i dont
i made her listen to the stones early in our relationship, she did not know them, she just knew the bad reputation they have among feminists. She is a feminist.
When we got married in 2003 we went to Paris and she was with me in Bercy and also tried with me to get tickets for Olympia. She dont love them the way i do, and she always make faces at their chauvinist lyrics, but she likes them and think they're great musicians. She's the one who promote them among our friends, more than me winking smiley
I remember when she sang Wild Horses to me at a party in the basement of a friend...;O
Sharing is something we all need
but also it is healthy sometimes to say no (i am going alone or you are going alone)

We give each other concert tickets for Birthdays and Christmas , saves buying each other junk you will never use.

So afraid I dont think it is unhealthy to have a love for something but it is nice when the person you share your life with has the same love : )))).

it's not normal because the stones are not normal. it's normal for people to question our obsession, and it's normal, to us, to have this obsession.
