Taylor hopes he might join his old band on stage

Taken from Rhino Records.

The Stone Rolls On
Catching Up With Mick Taylor
by Rob Patterson

Taylor hopes he might join his old band on stage when their current tour hits Europe (he also sat in with them in 1981) and doubts that this will be the band's last stand. "They always say that, don't they?" he points out with a chuckle. "And they really don't need to do it for the money. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if they keep going."

if you think wood nailed the solo on sway in london then what is the term used if we all saw taylor live in 1972/1973. I guess we would of all said Mick Taylor is God and he can walk on water.

It would be cool if he just joined in for, for example, Sway or Love In Vain.

Maybe a jam with Ronnie on Can't You Hear Me Knocking? That would be fantastic.

the big opportunity for this, was missed at Astoria 2003.

Having been at both Twickenham shows and seen MT at the Astoria last year I can quite safely say that the Stones aint going to let MT anywhere near their stage. It's more likely that you'll find him flipping burgers outside.

maybe he can play as a support act and then the stones roll in after someone roll him out

I think the reason they didn't let him play on the Astoria gig was because he didn't show up for rehearsals.

Lizard hits the nail on the head. I saw MT at Shepherds Bush in July 94 and at the Dick Heckstall Smith tribute at the Astoria in June 05. Whilst it was great to see him as an ex Stone it has to be acknowledged that he looks a complete shambles and would look completely out of place on stage with them now.

People should let go of the whole MT and the Stones thing. Just enjoy the records and the shows they did together. After Ronnies performances at Twickenham who wants the ghost of Mick Taylor.

I agree. Taylor has been out of the band for 30-plus years. Let it go, already.

Maybe he wants to graze at the buffet.Fried chicken grease allows for faster fret board action. But,that would be the opposite of sticky fingers......so that would cancel out the 23,439,893rd version of CYHMK
!Oh well, its just that lemon pie thats got MT ashamed to weigh!!

In "According to...." there's Ronnie saying something along the lines of:

"MT played with us on some dates [i.e. Kansas City] in 1981 and he turned his amps really loud, so Keith was about to kill him and I had to get in Keith's way several times to stop him..."

So I think, MT is not getting anywhere near the Stones' stage nowadays....

If you enjoy MUTED Rhythms and Tin Notes then the weavers are your LOVING CUP.I would rather drink some VIBRATO with MT.

Would you put brown sugar in your coffee I would only if it was MT BRAND.

I find it kind of strange that so many comments about Taylor on this thread have to do with his weight.

Is looking sleek and svelte what makes for a good Rolling STones guitarist? Appaarantly it is, because Woods looks good but can't play worth shit.

Everybody knows that Woods can't play "Love in Vain" or "All Down the Line" or many of the other solos Taylor created for the Stones. Can you imagiene Woods playing the solo on "Can YOu Hear Me Knockin'"?

The Rolling Stones have become caricatures of themselves. They've lowered their standards so far they let Woods play in their band.

To be a Rock'n'Roll star you MUST be thin and have good hair. In fact Keith is no longer a Rock star because of his hair... I thought everybody here knew that, where have you been all this time?

I've heard a few versions of LIV, ADTL and CYHMK featuring Ronnie, so I don't have to imagine it at all, I simply hear.

Yeah, whatever...

Mr Woods can,t even come up with his own licks on all down the line, he again trys and copies Taylor's licks - on CYHMK from MSG licks tour he tries and
copies MT's triple stops and comes up way short.

on Shine a Light from Amerstdam he tries to play a solo and again falls on his happy face. So if you are Skinny and a Clown and make Winces when you try a bend a string Mr Wood proves you can sound terrible.

Keith is afraid he'll "bust the crust" and eat the whole damn sheppard's pie.
