did you see High fidelity? theres a funny scene in that where theyre trying to come up with a top ten list for funeral songs and YCAGWYW comes up and one guy at the record store goes:
" I automaticaly disqualify that song becasue of its association with the Big Chill" and Jack Black goes "DAMMNIT, your right I forgot about that!" Hi-larious.

Way back I alway's said to familie and friends play Gimmi Shelter for me.

Getting a bit older and sentimental I think I go for "Some Where Over The Rainbow" by Keith (do you think if I ask him that he will play it live at my funeral ?)

When a friend of mine died some years ago, they played As tears go by and in the Ghetto with Elvis. Songs he loved. I think that was the first time the Stones were heard in my church. Beautiful.

Think I`ll have Start me Up...

I could picture Careless Ethiopians too.

When my friend died (you may remember the thread around New Years days) they played - if I still recall it right - among other songs Changes w/ Black Sabbath and Who'll Stop The Rain with CCR.

When I made plans for my funeral some years back (very ill and didn't want my religious family to F**k things up...) I demanded they played Wild Horses and Dead Flowers. And there'd be no priests, no religious hymns or seremonies. And if they had the guts: Sympathy for the devil. My husband laughed hysterically... So did I. We postponed the whole thing. But I guess your funeral is the one show that will never be CANCELLED. If you have a good crowd (not necessarily many - but a GOOD crowd), nice music and 4 guys to carry your coffin - the worms will do the rest... (How morbid!)

I haven't made any funeral requests other than I want them to make sure I am 15 minutes lates to the church. Just so everyone remembers me the way I was.

I was sure it would end with "....dead before they sink me down"

hehe Erik!

I'm pretty sure the draining of my blood during the embalming process will take care of that!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Embalming?
To preserve for future generations?
Then you'd have to change your signature-motto too
"Was looking real good, but wasn't feeling to well."

At that point, I hope you'll change it for me, I might not be able to type so well with my fingers all sewn together.

Wow! you know it's slow in Stonesville when we're talking about embalming ourselves!

Heart Of Stone would get everyone crying, I guess. For some reason I almost cry when I hear it without dead people. It's a very emotional song.

BTW, Cindy, I woke this morning in a state of shock, it felt like I hadn't slept all night and I was really exhausted.
Guess why ? HA!

Play With Fire in my funeral, cause that's probably what I'll do in my next life, down under...

Angel In My Heart by Mick could be a good one.

Yeah, I saw that one, but I was more interested in watching the hair grow on my arms so I stopped reading. ;o)

Erik - post the picture, it's not dirty.

I will have "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" performed at my funeral by a local gospel choir. No date has been set yet.

Big spiders, and I think these ones are able to jump high too.

Actually, if I really had to pick one I would have "Daisy a Day" played. It reminds my family of my mother, and it would make me happy for my family to know that I am with her.

I'd hate to see the fly THAT spider said "hi" to.....

I actually think that is two spiders, but that doesn't make it any less nasty or scary.

That picture gives me the CREEPS!!!!

When I eventually go, I want either Jumpin' Jack Flash or (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction played at my funeral. I love those two and I want my entrance into the afterlife to be a happy one. There's going to be enough sadness so why not pick something upbeat. Maybe even Highway To Hell by AC/DC just for kicks. winking smiley

I think I'd have "Pain in my Heart" followed by "It's all over now" , "start me up" and "surprise, surprise".

Chris
