Yup, that's the one. We had that played for her at my wedding, everyone was balling their eyes out.

Do you really like that song? I think it's sweet.

Yeah - I like a lotta sappy crap from that era ('72). Gilbert O'Sullivan stuff, for instance. You want some teardrops - how about "Alone Again (Naturally)"....

I just heard that song on the radio the other day! Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks is another sad one. My mother also liked "Last Song" by Edward Bear.

How about Austin Roberts' "Rocky" - that's from 1975. A piece of poo - but should bring a tear to the eye....

That was brutal, Cindy, the killing of Bambi's mother....damn, how could I forget about that...I cried for the first three months of first grade over that one.

I loved it! No it wasn't the ususal Adam Sandler, but it was good. Made ya' think no matter what age about what's important. Christopher Walken was perfect for his role, was he not?

SALT OF THE EARTH
M. Jagger/K. Richards)

Let's drink to the hard working people
Let's drink to the lowly of birth
Raise your glass to the good and the evil
Let's drink to the salt of the earth

Say a prayer for the common foot soldier
Spare a thought for his back breaking work
Say a prayer for his wife and his children
Who burn the fires and who still till the earth

And when I search a faceless crowd
A swirling mass of gray and black and white
They don't look real to me
In fact, they look so strange

Raise your glass to the hard working people
Let's drink to the uncounted heads
Let's think of the wavering millions
Who need leaders but get gamblers instead

Spare a thought for the stay-at-home voter
His empty eyes gaze at strange beauty shows
And a parade of the gray suited grafters
A choice of cancer or polio

And when I look in the faceless crowd
A swirling mass of grays and black and white
They don't look real to me
Or don't they look so strange

Let's drink to the hard working people
Let's think of the lowly of birth
Spare a thought for the rag taggy people
Let's drink to the salt of the earth

Let's drink to the hard working people
Let's drink to the salt of the earth
Let's drink to the two thousand million
Let's think of the humble of birth

Lets raise our drink
To the salt of the earth
Lets raise our drink
To the salt of the earth.......

Hello Marcia. How's my favorite Stones fan nurse? Yes, it was a thought provoking movie. there was maybe a tad too much of dog humping humor but the basic theme was presented very well and with poignant results. As for Christopher Walken, his character was superb. I always love his characters, though.
