First Stones Album/Cd you bought

My first Stones purchase was Flashpoint. I was just getting into the Stones in the mid-late 90's and I knew I really liked Ruby Tuesday and Start Me Up, and that was the only compilation I could find that had both. Turned out to be a great live album that I've practically worn out.

However, the first actual Stones "album" I bought was Bridges to Babylon.

Sticky Fingers. However, to clarify, it was not purchased on the 1st day of release; which I did accomplish thereafter. However, when Hot Rocks hit the charts, I was psyched and bought it first day. It went #4 that week!

Let the spirit Roll! Open the Vaults, Oliver!

Aftermath. Mid-80s.
But my interest & commitment has been kicked up & on
in sudden moves, like 1966-67 - Satisfaction, maybe PIB
and images/posters on a relative's wall;
1975 Out Of Time, 1981-82 SMU, Go-Go;
JJF rediscovered by me & many others etc.

Made In The Shade when it was released, when I was 12 years old.
I still have the original vinyl in my collection, slightly torn and frayed and almost unlistenable because of scratches.
I keep it for sentimental reasons.

My older brother had quite a big Stones collection though, I remember he bought Sticky Fingers when it was released.

Big hits high tide and green grass.I knew nothing and I wanted desperately to hear satisfaction.In general it was my 4th cd in my collection.The first was the delicate sound of thunder from Pink Floyd.

My first approach was in 1997. A friend of mine had given me a tape of Sticky Fingers that I could take on my summer trip to Iceland. I remember spending 2 days sitting on the deck of the boat taking me from Denmark to Iceland with a bottle of Bailey's in hand listening to Dead Flowers over and over again. I eventually got into the whole album. When I got back home, I bought my first Stones cd - Stripped.

with my own money? Beggars, when it came out.
there were a few of the earlier ones around the house too, that either my sister had bought or we'd gotten as presents.

Keith, be well - all the way, baby, all the way

Not only was the London Years my first stones CD, it was my first CD period. I really liked it, especially hearing songs that didnt get radio airplay. The second CD i bought was also stones, aftermath because after watching the movie Rushmore, I wanted the song "I am waiting", still like that album and was the first I bought on SACD.

Emotional Rescue - when I was 13! It´s not their best record, I know - but for me at that time it was. Next one was Tattoo you, then Aftermath and all the old records - now I have around 60 records and Cd´s, bootlegs included, and about 8 DVD´s.

Jump Back, Best of 1971-93. That was in the early 90's and the main reason for buying it was that it featured Paint It Black, which happened to be my fave Stones song at the time.

Black & Blue when I was 11 and it was riding high in the album charts. I'd seen them do Fool To Cry on Top Of The Pops and that was it!
