So I was watching the MSG Four Flicks DVD the other day, (I'm starting to face the cold hard truth that the two Euro shows I have tickets for in the upcoming weeks are not gonna happen so I'm making due with DVDS) and, I was in such an apathetic state (ok, i was a bit drunk), that I managed to make it through Honky Tonk Women featuring Sheryl Crow. (Hate it when the Stones use guest vocalists) Anyway, after she finishes butchering the song, she embraces Mick, Keith, and Ronnie, in that order. She says something to Ronnie when she hugs him, though - and from what I can tell (I'm a medicore lip-reader) she's saying "Keep Your Hands Off!"

OUCH!

Any thoughts? I realize this is a lamp post - so perhaps it doesn't even qualify as a "thought" at all . . .

I saw Crow opening for the Stones in Wembley Stadium back in '99 and she guested vocals on HTW, how I hated it.

I'll have to watch for that. Sounds interesting.

However, I will say that I really really enjoy her album The Globe Sessions. Such a well-written album. I love There Goes The Neighborhood and My Favorite Mistake. The Difficult Kind is one her best songs too.

this is one of my all time favorite cd's. and nikki, we've been through this before, please cut sheryl some slack.

i'm not knocking her - i'm just saying that she doesn't appear to cut ronnie any slack!

I always thought she said "you played your ass off" or playing. refering to his solo on the previous song CYHMK.

well, i've never been wrong before, so this could be a first . . .

i really respect sherryl crow.. i may not always like her songs but she comes at it from the right place.. she loves good old rocknroll like i do...reading her entry on the stones in "according to the rolling stones" was moving because her getting up on stage with the stones was like any of us fans getting up there.. and she conveyed that quite well....i lover her story about mick pinching her ass too....

she's one cool lady... thats how i would sum her up best..

somewhere in the 1990s she became a favorite punching bag of those full of shit pitchfork media type holier than thou critics who prefer the arctic "blow" monkeys of the world or whateve -usally downer joyless- flavor of the month is in vogue.. but by now sheryll has put together some real classics...

I attended the 2 Wembley back in 99. My best Stones concerts ever aside Brussels 73. And Sherryl Crow was superb.
