Really??! I thought the best part of the '81 tour was the setlist - but then, I'm a sucker for the Stones circa 1978-1981.

STEEL WHEELS '89, they will never beat that set list, length of show (27 songs!), spectacle, energy of the band, energy of the crowd for the reunion. Even if there were too many keyboards and some cheesy elements sound-wise, '89 was the best by a long shot.

Well, i know the 72-73 were the best, but since I did not see them until 82, I´ll go with 81-82. Here is a pic from Stonesvikings site of the first ever Stonesgig I attended, I was 17, and a lot of wonderful things happened that summer..:

Don't worry, the Hand Of Fate will make a Honky Tonk Woman cross your path some day.. and When The Whip Comes Down, you WILL get your Rocks Off, and although she might tell you Lies, Wild Horses can't drag you away.

The best tour is always the actual one. If I am in the crowd, the band's playing, that's the most amazing moment. I don't think about past and future then.

I think European people must think alot different than Americans, I never knew of a REUNION tour I never knew they broke up, did they? I have fond memories of 81, that was my first Stones show. The setlist on Licks was the best. I saw them in Little Rock, Ark. this year that was probably the best overall show Ive witnessed, they have never disappointed. Hope they rock yall as much as they did here. Jbird

My theory is that The Best Tour is the one that just previous to your first tour. The one that maybe you could have seen--even though you were pretty young--if your older brother or sister had been cool and taken you with them.

That was the tour you saw pictures of in magazines, and heard people that were around your age talk about. You remember that year very well. It was the year that you COULD have--but DIDN'T go to see the Stones.

Those older tours were so long ago that they are impossible...you would have been way too young...or not even alive...you can only imagine what they were like.

But the last tour....it's the Big "IF ONLY" that haunts you. If only you were three years older, you could have driven yourself. Even if you actually see a Great Tour, it still won't match up to the dream of your Best Tour.

So my Best Tour is '72.

I've seen at least one show from every tour since 1975. I think 1975 was the best, but this January in Boston was as close as it gets to that for me. So to answer your question, this tour rocks!!!!

Well as didn't get to see them until Urban Jungle I'd say licks

The Licks tour is also a forgotten pick. Damn, we were spoiled with those setlists. We don't appreciate that one as much as we should.

1973 by a country mile...and better than 72.

Yeah man, Under My Thumb as an opener, loads of new songs, I mean, a setlist like that nowadays would be so cool.

Well best tour for me that I saw, was Licks, because I was front row for two shows in a row, and they were varying their set list nightly, and played some true gems. Can't You Hear Me Knocking!!!!

I just saw them in China for the current tour and they were great! But Licks edges the Bigger Bang by a hair....

Gotta stick to my original post, I'm listening to Tokyo 1995 right now and it's overwhelming! Love Is Strong should be played a lot more!

A BIGGER BANG

IT'S THE TOUR RIGHT NOW!

I believe this tour is awesome! Yes they were all fantastic tours each special, but the STONES are tighter now and have blended together like a fine wine. DARRYL is tight and the other back-ups are right on the money. THE STONES are playing better now as a band, feeding off each other like they are part of each other, it's amazing to see them keep getting better with each tour.

There's no doubt '72 is the best tour ever. However, '69 is certainly as good!

1975. Pure magic. 1976 for Hot stuff. 1973 for the rock n roll. 1972 for the blues. Cant choose on but these are the best ones.
