That's another new picture for me Rockman (4 posts above), even though I've seen his Indian-wig before. Thanks!

1975 sucked? No way. Woody had joined them and L.A. Forum '75 rocked like hell as far as I can see on the DVD.

nice pics - I loved it when Ronnie and Keith played left-handed on that tour just to mix it up.

I love Billy Prestons part of the show. In fact together with IORR and SFTD that's the highlight for me.

I guess everyone noticed the irony of Bill Wyman standing in front of a sign stating "No persons under 21 years of age permitted." He's standing outside the door as if to console those who were too young for admittance.

What do you think Bill's idea of "consoling" is?

I have a pretty good idea, Cindy....I mean he'll probably start by taking their pacifiers out of their mouths and asking if they have had their naps yet today.

I saw them in Seattle in '75 and they were sensational, absolutely no sludge, high energy, the Stones at their best. The LA DVD shows them at their worst. Seattle was a great show, we were lucky. Listening to some of the other '75 shows they were sometimes great for the first thirty to sixty minutes, then fell apart, or never even got off the ground. The Stones are great for 70 minutes, not two hours. That's why '72 and '72 were great: get out there him 'em hard, slow it down, speed it up w/MR, do a few more and leave them screaming the house down.

Good eye, T&A, I thought it seemed unusual to see Ronnie on the right and Keith on the left....now I know why.

Lol, yeah they went for that lefthanded style, you can hear it on some boots or parts of the concerts. But yes i agree that it was a bitl ike they were good for 30 minutes and then half dead for ten and then the greatest ever again.

Yes, the handful of times they switched to left-handed playing, they also switched sides of the stage to keep the audience from getting disoriented. thoughtful.

Rockman those are great pics. Are they from the TOTA book?
Just tell me, anyone tell me that anywhere in existence there is a shot cooler than Queen Jagger on top of her Glacier of Crystals. Towering on the Lotus..what a magnificent picture. I want that as a poster!
But as art in a photo I think the one with Jagger peeking through Keith's elbow space is even better.

It's so wierd to look at this photos....with a title that reads "1975 sucked".
Just these photos alone, would beat that first post 10 feet below zero.

I told you it's the best stage they've ever had.
Pity they don't drag it out again.

Man every band has some off nights. As do our heroes...and yeah, 72/73 are great, but 75/76 are great too! So much new funky energy!! Great riffing, and great sound! None of those weird sound gremlins that seemed to plague so much of the 73 material. And you have to love the Gospel revival feel to You Gotta Move!!! Those pics are testomony to how rock they were! Great shit man!

posted this story before but it's worth another...i read an article a few years back in vanity faire about the '75 tour, specifically the msg shows...people backstage were wondering what was going on when they heard the commotion of the chinese dragon and all the percussionists wandering through the crowd on the floor...when someone asked what was going on someone replied that bianca was being shown to her seat...

False - You can't compare The Stones with Wood to Zeppelin. Wood was a total hack...

Mick looked like Ronald McDonald and acted like
Richard Simmons. Thats your idea of cool?

It was a great tour. If you didn't see it, you can't imagine how awesome and glorious and debauched they were. The photos while spectacular can't capture the brilliance of the Rolling Stones in 1975

good call, rip...."debauchery" aptly describes this era. i've always been a fan of good ol' fashioned debauchery.
