Very Best "SHATTERED" ever?
Posted by: adamdean ()

Last night's version, given the setting at RCMH and the performance by Mick on vocals and the tight groove behind him, Charlie staccato, Daryll pumping, Keith and Ronnie nailing every riff - the best ever live version? When the bootleg or the concert DVD and CD emerge then the world can debate this. Any other attendees care to comment? I thoght it was un-frickin-believable myself!

Sorry, but unless Daryl was the bass player in '78 and I am reasonably certain he was not--not a chance.

Passaic '78
Memphis '78

I think shattered sounds great on this tour.

Albany was pretty good even though there was some confusion in the band over if they were going to play it before or after Rough Justice.

During the Blind Date gig Charlie played his bit coming out of the guitar break a little differently--always liked that version

"Young Adam" just south of the big 50, thanks for the compliment! And the wick still dips, no little blue pills necessary...

Great version but I'm not crazy about the song.

I am not a fan of the song BUT it was the best version I've ever heard! EVER! The band was on fire last night, all night! They keep up the intensity level, AMAZING!!! One of the best Stones shows I've ever seen!

unfortunately it's one song that "live" never quite captured the brilliance of the Studio version. I still love it but it's no where near as great.

that's the thing about last night's show - the usual venues of stadiums and arenas lose the nuances of the song and everything gets bounced around. none of that last night - perfect acoustics! better than hearing at shepherd's bush in '99 even. I AGREE WITH ADAM - BEST EVER!

The Gimme Shelter was amazing last night too!

'81 Phoenix, Arizona. Other '81 versions are a little flat but this one's just perfect!
