football is definately full of sense and purpose and strategy....if you're from another culture it may be hard to grasp....just as many americans cannot get into european football..........so, unless you really understand the game....you don't have much ground to stand on with that comment
No, you can't judge what's "good" or what's "bad" sport. I bet for instance, that you in America find the cross-country-skiing boring. 50 km with walking, walking, walking. But it's very big in Norway.
I would love it, too, but I aint holding my breath waiting for it to happen. He did tour last summer in minor league baseball parks, but that's probably as close to a sporting event as he'll get. in my opinion, of course.
Hey Dillard have you seen Dylan before? I've seen him a bunch of times, three of which were in your hometown of Charlotte (once at Carowinds when he had G.E Smith with him).
i took our sons to Miami v Phoenix around 1990 at Joe Robbie stadium.i also took them to all the games at Wembley when London had a team.i think they were called the Monarchs ? to sum it all up in two words.............

Lukester, yeah I saw that one! and one at the amphitheater, with Santana opening. and recently a great show at Ovens auditorium, with his current band, which grooved the place to the foundation. festival seating too, so we got pretty close! awesome.

so billy, explain how american football is "total nonsense"....................instead of a two-word generalization

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Santana one. That makes four for me in the Queen City, as well as two in Boone and two in Asheville. I'm getting used to seeing him hunched over that electric piano, but still long to see him holding a guitar. That one at Carowinds may be my favorite of all of 'em; such tasty guitar work when he and GE Smith sat on stools and did some "unplugged" songs.
They certainly cornered the market on Stadium anthems and the football crowd may accept Paul Rodgers as a replacement. They are touring the States soon.(?) So, we'll see how well they are received.
dylan's too garbled sounding.....the censors won't know what to bleep!!
my guess is....another knighted british rocker with a big worldwide catalogue, elton john, .......or a useless right-leaning country superstar who thinks they can rock, ........or a veteran US rocker like springsteen or bon jovi. definitely will not be as cool as the stones.

Ahh, too bad about billy LOL. American football is a fantastic mixture of controlled violence and strategy...offense and defense...blitzes, bombs and control of the ground. It has some of the features of another favorite American pastime -- making war.
BTW, billy's not French, is he? If he is, he's probably puzzled by the referee's signal for a touchdown. In French military usage, throwing both hands in the air means "I surrender!"

I think you are on target, winter. Tim McGraw already does a song during each halftime of Monday night football. I don't know if he leans right, but he's country.
Old country, gospel blues which inspired the Stones is a SPORT of ours and the STONES sounded like crap instead of rising to the occasion for the land they owe their craft to......Now the fact is... Keith was way out of tune, during start me up charlie hit a different beat in the beginning and the song almost went down. Rough justice was horrible in the beginning... Satisfaction was good thanks to Mick.... Keith once again alittle off tune and alittle behind... not a very good performance at all. BBKING, BUDDY GUY, MUDDY WATERS would not have been impressed...on the other hand i am sure bands like the CLASH would have loved it... but the RAMONES would have hated it! OPPS another American style of music the britts ripped off... ACTUALLY IN THE SPORT OF MODERN MUSIC HAVE YOU CREATED ANYTHING ORIGINAL THAT COULD BE CALLED BRITISH???? OR EUROPEAN FOR THAT MATTER.
Why are you trying to be so nice to everybody with sharing songs, and then being so rude for what-ever-reasons other times? If you're so upset, why don't you just turn the computer off?

I wish. No, the Asheville shows were at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium and the Civic Center. A friend of mine saw him at the Orange Peel. That was added to the tour itinerary just days (well maybe a couple of weeks) before the show date and I had a conflict (I was teaching the next morning).
thanks for sharin' Billy....just wanted you to know that we welcome (with open arms) British natives (and all other cultures) in my city (L.A.).....we have pubs, British import shops etc....so, if you're ever in L.A. drop on in
