Funny comment before Satisfaction -

"Here a song we could of Played at Superbowl I.." good humor jab at themselves "but we had to wait until this one (Superbowl 40)

Nice performance. Repeat of first two songs from Monday Night Preseason show they did, nevertheless, promote Bigger Bang by Rough Justice once again. Thought they would do Rain Fall Down. Satisfaction was great, rocked the place.

Yeah, there were back up singers, more audible than Mick a few times.
Anyway, proud of the boys. They rocked. Mick got into it especially during Satisfaction. The guitars were really good.
Mick seemed a bit short of breath, more than you would expect when they did only three numbers... About their looks, they sure looked cool, but why all black... I thought right at the beginnign that Mick could have had some colorful t-shirt, not be all in black... well, that's a detailsmiling smiley

Indeed. You're right Mickschick. The performance was great, cool, sexy. The Stones are incredible. Luckiest generations who have them around.

"Here a song we could have Played at Superbowl I.." theoreticallysmiling smiley Nobody would let them that time (if the show during the break was done, anyway). And nobody would say they would be rocking like this in 2006, toosmiling smiley

Glad to finally see positive reaction on this site because it was a great performance. Also I don't think the back up singers were under the stage but even if they were who cares the band rocked tonight. Plus the stage was way cool.

Great performance, although, as was mentioned, there were the usual background vocals at the end of Satisfaction so I thought that Lisa/Daryl were hidden.

Mick's vocals got deleted during Start Me Up - You'll Make a Grown Man... and then on Rough Justice - Am I Just One Of Your...

Beelyboy,

Were you enjoying alcoholic beverages during the Super Bowl, by any chance?

I think Beelyboy is really "just" excited. Very excitedsmiling smiley
And I see tonight's performance of the boys brought some new posters to this board. No wonder.
Watched it again now, and liked it even more. Rocknroll, I love it.

"..an amazing gift to generations and generations (and generations...and uh, younger folks than that...NO offense intended...who never ever really got a taste of the real thing..."
Right. Being 22, 2 years a fan, tonight's Stones, that's closest to the "real thing" I ever was.

"i don't want to even think of a world without them..."

Beelyboy! Beelyboy!

Just kidding around with you!
I loved your review!

I'm mad at myself now for boycotting the performance. That'll teach me.

And, Beelyboy... I hope that will be the first of MANY posts from you, ya knucklehead!

Terrible mix on the TV. How much do these people get paid?
Average performance, but I'm sure it sounded better there than on TV.
Jagger was good. Charlie was good (he's alsways good). Hard to tell if the guitars
were good as it was a horrible mix. Slide guitar was way too loud on RJ and Keith
was way too low on STU and Satisfaction. Vocals were way too loud.
The stage was pretty good. They should stick with the tongue colors, black, pink white, red, as it looks really good, (remember the 1978 tour?).

Beelyboy

I'm a girl.
Seems we got a former hippie here or someting?smiling smiley A liberal, I like that.

"never been able to forget how hugely it moved me...ty much smilingsun"... I get it, believe it. I can't forget how I felt when I just listened to Exile album for the first time, very moved.
The times are different, but the music is timeless, best. It's great the Stones appeal to people of many generations. When it's in the bones, it's in the bonessmiling smiley

Well, who else actually should make you post on a stones site?smiling smiley

It's not true, sure. All you need to love the Stones is to have exquisite taste and be really sexy, I guess.smiling smiley Male or female, it doesn't matter.

Just listening to the Satisfaction again - thank you for posting it Messhead - no wonder it made you post, it's such a great performance, they rock like that in their 60s, it's incredible, I love the guys.

What was Keith looking for after they were done, his purse?

That was amazing - they nailed it!

I kept on turning the stereo up during the set - by the end of Satisfaction I was standing on the couch screaming "OH MY GOD - THEY'RE @#$%& DOING IT!". God knows what my neighbors thought was going on in Apt. 3!

TREMENDOUS!

I figured they'd just be OK, the best I'd realisticly hoped for was good - they were GREAT!

How anybody could slag off tonight's performance is beyond me - seriously. Mick didn't hold back on the vocals, the guitars were loud and dirty, Charlie was obviously having a ball . . . this is as good as it gets, and damn close to as good as it ever got.

Very proud of them tonight, especially the guitarist with the big honker - he was stellar.

Have you ever seen so many camera phones in an audience that size?
The Rolling Stones stoled the show at the Super Bowl.
