How's Wyman's salary?
Posted by: Erik_Snow ()

I wonder about how much Bill Wyman earns from the Rolling Stones after he quitted?
When the Stones play concerts nowadays, with songs Bill originally played on, he doesn't get paid, do he? He didn't write them. And they're not doing "Downtown Suzie" or "In Another Land".
And the old albums that are being sold, how big percentage goes to Bill? 2 percent perhaps?
Somebody knows about this?
(I hope he isn't starving. If he is, we outta send him a donation. At least some biscuits and some cigarettes.)

I do not worry for Bill. He still earns money from the Stones catalogue prior he left . I think he kept aside some cash from his Stones period. His Sticky Fingers restaurant in London is top. I think he has opened another one. But cannot remenber where. By the way pretty sure he quit smoking.

Perhaps I won't send those coins to him, then.
But I wonder how much he gets from a sold Stones album.
Let's say a Stones CD (from 64 - 90) costs 10 euro.....
Perhaps 8 of them goes to production-expenses, or the store or Virgin or whatever. (This is just my guessings, I don't know). That leaves 2 euro to the Stones themselves. I suppose Mick and Keith gets 1.5 euro, because of the songwriting-credits.
So Bill, Charlie and Ronnie, + all other backup-musicians have to share 0,5 euro. Bill only gets 0.1 euro then!!
That's not much, I'm a bit worried, after all then.

If Bill says he has $2 mill in the bank...that's CASH FLOW, not net worth. Bill has property worth that much at least. By Glimmer Twin status he may seem poor, but compared to most of us...he leads a life we can only imagine.

He is a multi millionaire. The only thing Bill cannot buy is youth.

I've never complained about the Stones ticket prices but will complain about paying any money at all for the lousy burger I had at Sticky Fingers in London...it was horrible!

I was at the Sticky Fingers too - only had two pints and a shot and looked at the photographs, no burgers.
You can buy tiny shots named after Stones songs, 4 pounds each and 2 pounds during happy hour. My Wild Horses tasted exactly like my girlfriends @#$%&, or whatever it was that she had.
In my opinion it's nice there, but it gathers some dust...
And by the way, Bill is not the owner anymore, is he?

I'm sure Bill the same royalty % on the albums he played on as he did when he was a member of the band! Probably blew alot of $ though on Penicillin, condoms, and 14 year old girls!!!

I heard that! I had a broiled fish filet there back in '03. Forget what kind of fish it was, but it was damn near raw. Might as well been sushi.

You shouldn't complain that much about the food.
Bill is trying as best as he can. When you used your fingers for half-of-a-century playing the bass, it's not easy to chop, fry, cook and serve.

Wyman obviously has enough money to afford a young wife and a couple of young kids, whatever the going price is for that these days. Not cheap, I'm betting.

@phd OK, this is not a very serious thread so I can add my 2 cents to this. Bill did not have to quit smoking because of to little royalties. :-) This picture is from October 2005.

Bill sold out his share in Sticky Fingers years ago, just before the prices went up and the quality went down.

Great pic. Thank you! Bill is taking it easy. As alwyas. He smokes for almost 60 years now and he is still in good health and looks pretty good for a man his age and after all he went through. Smoking can't be that bad I think. ;o)

Smoking is bad, but it depends a great deal of the genes.(is that spelled wrong).
I remember in Wyman's book "A Stone Alone", he wrote about his grandmother who was a chainsmoker, and lived 'till she was 90 or something.

Greta pics. Sorry also to learn that he sold his share in Sticky Fingers. Part of the pleasure to travel to London was this restaurant. Not so much for the food but the atmosphere. Bill has the taste to drink white wine.
