Im here in California, but I perfer Guinness, New Castle, and Bass. Damned Great Britian and there wonderful beers. However, there is a local restaurant (BJs) that brews their own beer...great stuff. The Stout is excellent!!

This is a long list... don't get me started...

In order of... light to heavy:

1) Wheats: Paulaner (german), Julius Echter (german)

2) Pale Ales/IPA's: 3 Floyds Dreadnaught (single-greatest beer in the world), 3 Floyds Alpha King, Victory Hop Devil, Great Divide Hercules Double IPA, Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, Anchor Liberty Ale... to name a few

3) Weizenbock: Schneider Aventinius in class by itself

4) Barleywines: Anchor Foghorn, Victory Old Horizontal, Dogfish Head Immort Ale, Great Divide Old Ruffian, and the incredible 3 Floyds Behemoth

5) Stouts: North Coast Old Rasputin (drier style), Victory Storm King (luscious), Dogfish Head Worldwide (only 18% ABV, tastes like port), and Bells Expedition Stout... Great Divide Yeti and Oak-Aged Yeti are pretty incredible too

6) Porter: Anchor Porter, Fuller's London Porter

7) Belgian Strong Ales: Rochefort Trappist and Westvleteren (all numbers) are both great.

Harpoon IPA, Sierra Nevada, Guinness, Bud cans (summer only, preferably outside), and pretty much any hoppy microbrew - Stone & Brooklyn are two.

Right now I'm drinking a can of Bud Light (it was left in my fridge from a party and I'm all out of everything else) - it doesn't taste like anything. It's not really bad . . . it just has no flavor whatsoever.

Guinness is in a class of it's own.

As for micro-beers - the original - Anchor Steam from the great city of San Francisco is still tops for me.

Newcastle is another of my faves.

Abbot Ale
Newcastle Brown Ale

Ah, finally a thread I can't sink my taste buds into;

No. 1 - Miller Genuine Draught in a longneck - The all-American beer. Ranks up there with Apple Pie and Football in my book.

No. 2 - Pabst Blue Ribbon - I don't even know if it still exists, but I was weaned on the stuff. I collect its memorabilia.

No. 3 - Jax Beer - New Orlean's best was so good that Miller bought them out to stop the competition. Its Memorablia is priceless. You better have the bux.

No. 4 - Dixie Beer - Best with a dozen oysters on the half-shell. Has a nutty taste.

No. 5 - Lone Star Beer - Rot gut Texas stuff, but does in a pinch.
