The Beatles and Stones

Yes, I realize this may be a stupid topic but how many people love them and appreciate their music equally (In my case this also goes for The Who and LedZep)? This reason I began listoning to the Stones as a little kid was because in reading old interviews with Lennon/McCartney/Starkey/Harrison they always talked up the Stones.

If you notice boy bands, they don't tend to play their own instruments and write any material (doesn't REALLY describe the Beatles.) Just cause they happened to be BOYS and in a band, don't hold that against them!

I love them both and Macca still does a great job.

You wanna hear something wierd? Last night I had a dream that the remaining Stones and Beatles got together for a recording and tour. Don't remember much else b/c someone was chasing me with an Axe. No joke. I really had this dream.
Never will happen, I know, but I'd love to see Keith and Mick honor their friend Lennon with a couple of his songs every once in a while.

<<If you notice boy bands, they don't tend to play their own instruments>>

How exactly does Ringo fit in the whole equation? While a number of Beatles numbers border on brilliance, Ringo's drumming is only distinguished by its consistency in being utter crap. At least Paul did some drumming in the studio.

Behind the Stones (British):
1. The Kinks
2. The Who
3. Led Zeppelin
4. Pink Floyd
5. Beatles
6. Bad Company

On the other side of rock, I always liked the vocal talent of Robert Palmer and Mick Hucknall, but that's another form of music that really only draws comparison by being British in origin.
