I want a live album-compilation with tracks from various tours.

1. Can't You Hear Me Knocking (1971)
2. Paint It Black (1967)
3. Ventilator Blues (1972)
4. Back Of My Hand (2005/2006)
5. Down The Road Apiece (1981)
6. Chantilly Lace (1982)
7. Mona (1964)
8. Beast Of Burden (1978)
9. Under My Thumb (1969)
10.Prodigal Son (1969)
11.Moonlight Mile (1999)
12.Midnight Rambler (1969)
13.Fingerprint File (1975)
14.100 Years Ago (1973)
15.She's So Cold (2005/2006)
16. As Tears Go By (2005/2006)

I would definately have bought that album! smiling smiley

I'm sure it won't happen but what about a concert series like

3 or 4 entire shows from the States, 1 from Japan, 2 South American and 2 or 3 European shows - they could put them up on iTunes or any site they like, sell them for $ 19,99 each. I would be the first to dl and pay for each and every show.

5. As Tears Go By
6. Back Of My Hand
7. Ain't Too Proud To Beg
8. Rain Fall Down
9. Sway
10. Midnight Rambler
11. Mr. Pitiful

CD2:
1. This Place Is Empty
2. Infamy
3. Miss You
4. Get Off Of My Cloud
5. Out Of Control
6. Driving Too Fast
7. Honky Tonk Women
8. Sympathy For The Devil
9. Brown Sugar
10. Jumpin' Jack Flash
11. It's Only Rock 'n' Roll

No Satisfaction. No Tumbling Dice. No Gimme Shelter. No Start Me Up. But 7 new songs, some stoneold classics, rare stuff and standards. That would be a great mixture.

5. Out Of Control
7. Honky Tonk Women
8. Sympathy For The Devil
9. Brown Sugar

11. It's Only Rock 'n' Roll

Weren't they all on Live Licks or No Security? And where is Night Time? I don't think the current tour set up deserves a double disc issue, if any at all.

The Beast maybe new to the posting but he has started with a good one, and what he says makes pretty good sense, but I dont think there will be a live album. A dvd will probably be out in time for Christmas. I agree with Kieth on the tracklisting -and I liked the Stripped and No security setlists in particular,LiveLicks maybe a bit lame, but the second cd does offer us hardcore fans a bit more of what we want. So, given a choice, I would love a 'No Security' type release Live cd and complete show on DVD.

Gazza:

I'm puzzled. Do you really think the playing/setlists on the tour have been so bad as to be worthless?

If not, then why not a live album? Of course, they'll pick the "wrong" performances and songs, it'll be too short and will be sequenced in a way that misrepresents the actual concert experience...

So what? I always get frustrated with Stones' live albums, but the usual issue is wishing that they had added more music, or different music, or used a complete show--not a lack of quality in what is actually there. All that means for me is that I still want to hear the Stones' live material and that whatever they put out officially is better than nothing.

Sometimes I go running while listening to the first disc of the much-maligned "Live Licks." Sounds absoultely great to my ears, as does the second--"Rocks Off" debacle notwithstanding...

I just choose to think of the live discs as little samplers, rather than complete or coherent albums.

What about a live "Rarities 1971-2006"?

I'm counting on the Stones getting it right for once and NOT RELEASING A POINTLESS LIVE ALBUM this time......

By the by, the recentedly torrented St. Paul (Sept.6, 2005) show - the Pignose version - is arguably the best boot circulating from the tour. Astounding sound and a pretty tight performance for that early in the tour...

1. Jumpin' Jack Flash
2. Let's Spend The Night Together
3. Oh No, Not You Again
4. Love Is Strong
5. Rain Fall Down
6. As Tears Go By
7. Midnight Rambler
8. Bitch
9. She's So Cold
10.Infamy or This Place Is Empty
11.Miss You
12.Rough Justice
13.Get Off Of My Cloud
14.Sympathy For The Devil

And perhaps Mr. Pitiful, Sway, Little T&A (if performed) and another new one

No more live albums, please. And if they'd do some kind of documentation of this tour, it should be a concert DVD with one whole concert on it. Like a live video, you know.

no, but going from the setlists on this tour any live album would effectively consist mostly of songs that have appeared already on numerous live albums including the last one..for the simple reason that they have played very few songs that have not been played frequently throughout the last few tours and have popped up on the obligatory live album. The playing has been OK to my ears, although in true fashion any shortcomings in that department can be corrected in the studio anyway!

you answered yourself - plus basically I think its redundant in the DVD era, especially if youre going to put out something (like LL) which is basically an edited version of FF. If they cared so little about the content of the last live album (added to the fact that they suddenly released it a YEAR after the DVD and the tour) then I dont trust them to make the effort with the next one

I'd rather have a full show on a DVD. I just think that theyve released so many live albums in the last 30 years (one from EVERY world tour) and in almost all cases, theyve been a missed opportunity and a case of 'what might have been'

the music on LL is fine for the most part. I thought it was a great tour and the Four Flicks DVD is the greatest release of the last 25 years of the band's career. The live album however is just a sloppily put together package and a cheap cash-in, which the band obviously didnt care about enough to listen to beforehand

unfortunately, the latter shouldnt be hard to compile.

What cd should they release?Jump Back with a red wrapper?Rewind as a digipak?Stop putting out cds?You would think that they can only mess up live albums so many times before they get it right.

Oh, that's nice. That's really nice. I would buy that, definitely. But if they were to make two cds then this is what I would want to see:

CD1:
01. Rough Justice
02. Bitch
03. She’s So Cold
04. Tumbling Dice
05. Oh No, Not You Again
06. Rain Fall Down
07. As Tears Go By
08. Back Of My Hand
09. Sway
10. All Down The Line
11. Night Time Is The Right Time

CD2:
01. This Place Is Empty
02. Infamy
03. Driving Too Fast
04. Get Off Of My Cloud
05. Ain’t Too Proud To Beg
06. Sympathy For The Devil
07. Hand Of Fate
08. Streets Of Love
09. Love Is Strong
10. Undercover Of The Night
11. Jumping Jack Flash

Only Tumbling Dice, Sympathy For The Devil and JJFlash from the standard classics. Once you put them among those songs they end up sounding fresh too. I would LOVE that plus a DVD. That would be sweet.

They need to include Rambler + rarities but,I have a feeling that it might not happen. They have never released two live albums two years apart. What they should do is record it early on in the tour and sell it at the shows if they are never going to do Instant Live type cds although,it is getting to be late for that.

well it would be unlikely that a live album would come out until 2007 and that would be 3 years

and that was the gap between Stripped and No Security.

there would have been a 1972 live album released within 2 or 3 years of Ya Yas but for contractual reasons

I don't really know about a new live album. If the stituation was where they were really changing the new tunes up. The way Ya-Ya's did to much f their older stuff. I would be interested then. But I see that so far the newer songs are all getting a studio treatment. I don't really need a live album I think. The few songs that are unique to this very tour, that set this tour apart from any other tour (19th Breakdown, As tears go By and the covers) I have heard many times already.

That's true but, there are still songs that are being played on this tour that were also played on past tours but not included on any live cd albums like She's So Cold,All Down The Line(live b-side only),and Love Is Strong.Let's not forget Sway either.I also liked Rough Justice on January 15 more than the studio version.Only Rain Fall Down seems real studio-like to me but, even that has the D.Jones extended solo on the live versions.
