It is the best tune on it.. that's for sure... the beat, the guitar interplay, vocals.. Aside from LIND it's probably the only really good song on ABB. If this tune was released on Sticky Fingers it would have been an instant classic. The other songs aren't bad at all, but ITWL is top notch songwriting.

The 2 times it's been played this tour have been awesome... best new "guitar" song for Keith & Ronnie in a long time
"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."
-------Easily the best track on 'A Bigger bang'. I've been listening to this track for ages in the car and it gets better each time.======
Amen! Its the one track I go back to time after time on ABB. I may even skip the 6 other tunes I like on the cd, but I ALWAYS play this one. I've tried to imitate on guitar though, and fail miserably. Keith proves his worth playing this riff.
Take a third of the songs off ABB and a quarter off Bridges and combine them and it would have made one decent album.
#......Go ahead....Bite the Big Apple....Don't mind the Maggots.....Uh Huh...#
I don't find it to be so good, really. In fact, to me, musically it's nowhere near other songs on ABB. LINDied is way above it, as LWTCatDI, RJ are, for example.
One song I like specially is Driving Too Fast, which seems not to appear on most "Best of ABB" lists here. It's a great groove, IMO.
I agree - LIND is one of my favorites off of ABB - great song and the singing by Jagger is strong (even though this tread was started by discussing IWTL)....
still quite remarkable how varied the opinions of the album and certain songs are - so many fans' favorite songs are other's least favorite. I think it does say something about the uneven-ness of the album. you don't hear many dissenting opinions about songs on LIB or SF, for instance.
IWTL really takes off at the chorus. Nice guitar work.
The Stones have always worked the theme of telling chicks to kiss-off very well. This is just the latest in a long and proud line - "Out Of Time", "Under MY THumb", "Stupid Girl", "No Use IN Crying", etc.
Walll...Mine is. 1.Let me down slow!!!(noone likes it it seems,I really do!)It even reminds me of the last time, wich was my favour choice, stones song, when I was 12!!! 2.Rough justice-It grows and grows, its a fuc-in ,war ponny, its gonna be a horse! 3.Biggest mistake!(all right!Soullll!!!)4.It wont take(punk) 5.Oh no not you again(If they was still alive the Ramones could cover it!!!remember their versions of ''out of time''ánd s f m !. ^6.Rain,great, this song can take all kind of directions in tha future(if there is one).7.Laugh I nearly(way out cool song, right!!)Matter of fact I desire and hunt, and grow on this album, its a wonder the Stones still could do this .Period.
its a decent tune but nowhere NEAR as good as ONNYA or RJ. those two are the tops of the album. everything else is 2nd. that is, except look what the cat dragged in, dangerous beauty, and sweet neocon... those 3 just plain suck and i cant stand playing them for myself or anyone else. sorry to bash stones tunes but those just suck. everything else on the album is phenomenal. under the radar and we dont wanna go home are better than any of those three...
