Mick Taylor's Fastest solo....

I have to say it must be Street Fighting Man from 1969 (Ya Ya's version).

Listen to the finger movements just before the last verse - incredibly quick!!!

Any clown can play a million notes flickering around the fret-board, but on this occasion Taylor just plays an amazingly quick blues riff that knocks your socks off !!!

I knew I could count on you OpenG !

But seriously, everyone will say Gimme Shelter or Love In Vain etc..., but for pure note playing, I reckon there's not too many guitarists on the planet that can play that solo as smooth as Mick does....

I reckon there are. Go to Greenwhich Village, NYC on open mic nights......some amazing blues guitar players as smooth as 30 year old scotch, they just have not been in the right place at the right time.

Mick Taylor was A fine, talented guitar player but he is just sooo overrated. He has been a has been for 25 years now

Milo, NYC
Can't you see the party's over

Mick Taylors guitar style consists in the combination of speed and melodious musicality. Only Johnny Winter can match him in this characteristic in my opinion. Both guitar heroes always play the right notes at the right time - quickly or slow ...

Taylor does the same thing as before the last verse on Ya Yas street Fighting Man, on the first show at Fort Worth '72, just faster. It's a nice one too!

Fast? How about fluid, smooth with great phrasing. Ascending and descending the pentatonic scales with brilliance and ease.

Most underrated solos by MT- "Winter" and "Jiving Sister Fanny".

Esky I know exactly which lick you're talking about. This is an incredible smoking riff he pulls off there. Not only because it ushers in the 3rd verse but also because it wails on top of that big key change. Great , GREAT passage!
