LIB from the movie is from East Rutherford so that's the reason it sounds better than the Tempe version we know from bootlegs.
I grew up with this film so I love it as it is. It's a piece of art for me. I will buy this although the japanese BD picture is already excellent. What the film really needs is a remix of the audio. Especially the Tempe songs don't sound that good. But I think just Like with L&G the contract situation is complicated so a Remix will not happen.
Probably not, since this 4K release is by Kino Lorber (New York) and not by Rolling Stones / Universal Music.
But you can rip the 4K / BluRay Disc and extract the audio.
NICE! Mick is super chatty here and adrenalized. Kind of a punk version of it.

They overdubbed the film. Heavily.
First time I heard of this and I honestly don't believe it. The soundboard bootlegs do match the film really good beside the edits. Still Life on the other side is heavily overdubbed. Can you name examples?
The audio of the 3 shows the movie is made from (Phoenix Dec. 13 & East Rutherford Nov. 5 + 6) is available in perfect complete unaccelerated stereo quality from Wolfgang's Vault (and the bootlegs made thereof).

I bought this VHS in London 1988...big record store...on my way to Greece, inter-railing. When I came home to Sweden again...two weeks later, I was so proud. Part of my youth indeed.

I loved this film and Still Life a lot after the tour. I hope to recapture some of that excitement with this upgrade release.

Same here regarding Keith anyway, all the stuff 'cept for the Mesa Boogie (which is kinda essential) and a Rosewood Tele.

Under My Thumb and Black Limousine are my favorites from the movie.
The audio from the movie is mixed for the movie and not evenly balanced/mixed. If it's Keith on the screen, Keith is louder. It's not mixed like an album. It's very uneven Ripping the audio isn't good. We need official CDs/LPs, etc...
I've heard the entire Tempe show on bootleg. Imagination and Neighbours has some excellent jams which were edited out of the movie. It would great to have the unedited Tempe show in pristine sound.

That was the first Stones concert I ever went to. Was a student at Arizona St. and blew off studying for 2 finals the next day. Barely passed the finals...but it was the right decision in hindsight.
What a stage performance....was a helluva show.
Joe Ely and George Thorogood opened for them.
