Just rewatched on YouTube. It's fantastic and lots of consideration towards Brian

I never forget the impact 25x5 had on me when I saw this on tv for the first time. I was 16 or 17 and was only discovering the Stones. I think Paint it black was my first introduction to the Stones (thanks to the tv show Tour of Duty), then I bought Steel Wheels and Rewind on CD and that was that. Then came 25x5. Luckily I recorded it from TV, and watched it a million times the next few years. I was seriously impressed by the songs, the interviews and the background stories. I never seen anything like this. It was the start of a great journey (still in progress) ....

Yes, although I remember being taken aback by Keith's, then, dismissive comments: 'shit happens'; 'hey, you cock, you're fired', etc. He's evidently mellowed since, as he's ben far more complimentary in more recent years. Mellowing with age, I guess.
Anyway, like so many others here, 25x5 was a revelation upon first viewing. It's a really well put-together, easy to follow, documentary. I discovered, and purchased, the VHS in a Beatles memorabilia shop, of all the places!

Think the meaning may have been a bit lost on non-UK viewers. He wasn’t calling him a cock; ‘Hey, cock’ is more like ‘hey, buddy’ might be for someone in the US. In his interview with Australian TV in 1973 Keith is a lot more circumspect regarding Brian’s death.

Are there copyright issues pertaining to this documentary that would keep it from being re-released and put on DVD or Blu-ray? I still have this on VHS from back when it was released. As many have commented, I would agree 25/5 was/is the finest documentary on the Stones to date. My youngest daughters were 3-4 years old when it was released and they watched it over and over again. Great video baby sitter!

Yeah. It was Hepworth. the footage is from the 'Whistle Test' BBC special shown in August 1986
The Stones were icons from at least 1972.The 1972 tour was THE event of the 1972 summer.Quote

what's great about it is that they weren't "icons" yet, so their comments are down to earth and fun; not yet so guarded or scripted.
And also they still were willing to admit that Mick taylor and Brian Jones were in the band! None of the modern day airbrushing that has gone on.

This version INFURIATES me beyond measure!!!
At 1:47 (approx) there's the wonderful quote from Charlie about working 5 years and 20 years hanging around. Great.

You can clearly hear a 2nd guitar in YCAGWYW at the rock n roll circus in 25x5.
