HE deletes threads just beceasue HE doesn't like them . Or they don't suck up to his obsession with this band. If a thread doesn't discuss the set list for the millionth time or some other topic that has been beaten to death on here he is offened or comes up with some smart ass answer . Like find anohter band if you don't like it. I have seen this jerk delete many other peoples thougts just because he disagress with them . Censorship has been dicussed on here from time to time and this guy belongs in the 50's . Does Mccarthyism sound familar with anyone ? Many of you on here have said well it is his site and while that may be true does it mean not allowing others to voice there opinion mean instant deletion becasue he doesn't like it ? Whether it is a joke or a comment people like to use this forum for other discussions then a Band from time to time.
I have no doubt this thread will only see the light of day for about ten minutes. So read fast . I am sure the BV police will kick me off .

Well if you wish to calm down a bit, which mightn't be a bad thing, then the thread has a chance of continuing. Why not open up a discussion about the precise subject of censorship ?

My opinion, in that case, is that the threads that BV has recently deleted or simply closed but left in place; he has by and large been quite correct in so doing. These have invariably been threads in which people have have expressed seriously controversial views about everyone's favourites; politics and religion, but have introduced a further dimension by employing completely tactless and insensitive language; the kind of language that if employed in a "face to face" confrontation - would inevitably lead to someone getting their jaw broken ?

Does that kind of stuff have a place on a Rolling Stones fan club discussion board ? Come on, you can't really say that it has - surely ?

I wasn't referring to language per say. Although lets be honest people do use language in real life and on the streets that some people may not like. As a matter of fact you can't even go out on the street without hearing it . If anyone one here has a problem with an expression or word a sublte hey lets keep it down would do.Not just delete them I have just seen topics that were at least in my opinion to be thought provoking and might lead into some open discussion about other issues other then set lists and ticket prices and who is a better guitar player(MT by the way lol) and they just get wiped out . Is that fair ? I just don't think so .

It is Bjornulf forum. he only works every day on it, so I can understand that he deletes some post if he thinks that are not right.
If you want write everything that you want, try to do your own Rolling stones web page. If you dont like this forum just go out.

This is a ROLLING STONES messageboard. BV does a great job of keeping it that way. Thats why we all continue to visit this board regularly.

Really. If you want free speech or political speech or whatever, there are plenty of places on the net to get it. This is one of the few places you can go and discuss the Stones. And I wouldn't say bv's decisions have been heavy handed; plenty of off color jokes get told here and never censored, so it's not like the place is totally stuffy and without humor.

As the master of ceremonies for this particular message board, Bjornulf, regardless of what you or anybody else thinks about him, has a legal responsibility of ensuring as best he can, that postings are not rude, offensive or potentially damaging to a person's character.

In the case of the latter, e-commerce law states that any identifiable individual can, under reasonable grounds, be sued for defamation of character, as can the person or persons managing the message board.

To his credit, BV has actually managed this board with considerable leniency, and in doing so, allowed us all to debate in the heated manner that no other Stones website would possibly allow.

Trust me. I know what I'm talking about (for a change!).

It's simple. Leave. It's BVs site. You don't like it, tough.

It is not censorship though. That is when the GOVT. steps in and tells you that youi cannot say something.

BV really only censors when absolutely necessary and does not delete posts that he does not agree with; he will delete a post if it is offensive. this is his board, he can do what he wants but really, he is not unfair. If you want to be more specific I'd bet BV would answer you directly.

sorry you feel that way...i think this has to be one of the best sites in all stones land...one main reason is that for the most part people talk about the stones...and most on this board really know their stones.. no talking religion or politics....just stones...we even talk about who's better taylor or wood...ha
anyway as jagger said we are all 1...yes we may not always agree but at least we all love the stones...so hang in there! bv. trys to run a good and fair board.

sure, and you might want to read up on it a little yourself:
it had precious little to do with censorship - and neither does this "issue" you're so distressed about.
when we're on Bjornulf's boards we're guests in his house. if we don't enjoy it here we don't have to keep coming back.

I don´t know if you have a web site, but if you do, you know it takes a lot of time. And when I put up a forum at my site, it became more popular, and people thought it was very cool. Sadly, some spam like porn and medics stuff, happen, but I delete it all. My board is a place to talk about rock´n roll, and this is a board to talk about Rolling Stones. And I also think it is a bit feelings involved. Cause like me, I guess BV meets a lot of you guys here, at shows and parties, and to read very offending posts between IORR´s - is not cool at all! I think of the people in my forum, as my friends, and I meet a lot of them. So if some of them start fighting in the forum, I guess I will tell them to do it some place else. It should be decent behavior, here on the www, like you usually behave on the street.

Whenever I see offensive or bullshit posts I clean up - just like any responsible person would do in their local community. Anonymous people are worth nothing when it comes to complaints.
