That looks suspiciously like a setup for a performance, given all the gear.

Please post a photo or two of that setup for the Facebook impaired. Thanks!

Personally, I love Jimmy Fallon. I think he's hilarious! Again I'm in the minority around here! LOL I think his era of SNL is the 2nd best era there ever was, after the 90's cast with Sandler, Carvey, Myers, Rock, MacDonald, Farley, etc. All of Hollywood loves Fallon, and the younger crowd do watch him, so I think that it's only fitting he helps announce the album. How many times has Keef been on in the past few years?!?! It'll be great! If they're live streaming the whole album, now that IS something different! Can't wait for that, if that is the case!!

Looks like a lot of lights but not a band.

Where is that picture taken? Is it where the live stream will be?

agree with everyone on fallon

i mean he seems like a nice enough guy but he's just not a very good interviewer and not very funny either

but i suspect it may have to do with band being comfortable with him (having done that exile week and keith having been on his show a half dozen times in the last decade) plus it means they have more control over what question are asked then compared to a normal press conference

Maybe he makes sense because of his 26.1 million followers in Instagram.

Why Fallon of all people? He's a TV clown and a phoney. For cheap laughs?

Why not someone real like Pete Townshend who's both a fan and a friend?

Or a writer/journalist in the know like David Fricke or Nick Kent?

Jimmy Fallon is a FAN.

Just shut up. Fallon has draw.

Goddamn some of you are so needing your hand held.

Fallon is a fan of everything--that's the problem. He fawns over any celebrity who will answer his questions. I agree with comedian Drew Michael: Fallon makes Jay Leno look like Malcolm X.

A perfectly safe moderator for the Stones. The Andrew Watt of late night tv.

I'm ELATED for this event and record but won't be expecting insightful questions from Fallon. Just some hahaha oh my god, you're Mick Jagger, you're a legend and so cool hahahaha oh my god. Keith, you're scary when you look at me like that, oh my god, did you really snort your dad's ashes, that's so crazy hahaha oh wow, etc...

Man. Peeps around here are wound tighter’n a drum! It’s gonna be hip. It’s gonna be causal. It’s gonna be fun. And hel-LO the main goal with all this damn marketing is to move units!!!! We are shooting for a number 1 here folks!!! Whatever it takes to make that happen. How do you reach the masses to get them excited for what’s coming out??? We don’t need to be reached. We’ll all buy it. Hell we’ve been b!tching about this release for over a decade already!!!

Have mercy!!

Since we are invited to submit our own questions via the live chat, perhaps those who question Jimmy Fallon’s suitability would like to tell us what insightful questions they have come up with?
For once, I agree with Gas Light Street. JF has 26 million followers. To question his suitability looks a little naive.

Not a huge Fallon fan for a lot of the same reasons already listed, but there is no doubt he's a huge Stones fan.
And with the interactions he's had with both Mick and Keith, they appear to be fans of his as well.

Perhaps a bit of good timing I think with the writers strike and Jimmy being off air now for a while, may bring in a bit more of an audience to the announcement.

I'd just sooner The Stones have a conversation among themselves, say what's got to be said and leave it at that. Really what's the point of having someone ask the same old war horse questions

You might not like his Mick impression but his impression of Neil Young is crazy good….also a decent Bob Dylan. Whatever your thoughts on Jimmy Fallon, there’s really no one better for this.

Just some positive Fallon quotes I totally agree with. (I hope that doesn't count as a campaign in BVs eyes)

Anyway, I am excited as hell and love it that the Stones are putting on a big thing for this.

Like this hilarious "unedited" PC from 2006? ;¬) That would certainly be something!

This is most likely not a song on the album.

Well said GLS!
Nobody is perfect, but I had quite some laughs during some of his shows.
And .... Hey everybody ... "this could be the last time, maybe ...",
so simply enjoy this bit of exitement. And don't blame Universal for trying to reach a huge audience (Anyone seen campaigns in China and/or India?)
We all want(ed) new music desparately for so long and here it comes, finally!
