^ You nailed it, for the cheap laughs. I assume Universal/the Stones org are hoping he will bring a wider audience and therefore more $$$, after all that is what absolutely EVERYTHING comes down to now in modern society, the almighty $$$ and ever increasing profit margins.
I can't stand Fallon, the guy is so fake and lame. He isn't even a good interviewer either.

Personally, I love Jimmy Fallon. I think he's hilarious! Again I'm in the minority around here! LOL I think his era of SNL is the 2nd best era there ever was, after the 90's cast with Sandler, Carvey, Myers, Rock, MacDonald, Farley, etc. All of Hollywood loves Fallon, and the younger crowd do watch him, so I think that it's only fitting he helps announce the album. How many times has Keef been on in the past few years?!?! It'll be great! If they're live streaming the whole album, now that IS something different! Can't wait for that, if that is the case!!

He's definitely an acquired taste, and I for one am not sure whether I've acquired that taste. On balance, probably not ...
Still, t'was their choice (presumably) to go with him !

His show has quite a sizable market worldwide though (Canada,Australia, India, UK,Germany, etc., etc) so not quite sure he is just for the American market.

Jimmy Fallon in Germany? It was: 'The Tonight Show' last ran in German public TV on niche channel 'One' (former EinsFestival), 2016-2017, with original audio plus subtitles - [de.Wikipedia.org] , [www.Wunschliste.de] .

Lots of fencing going up around the Empire now. I chatted with lots of the guys, everyone very tight-lipped. One guy mentioned that there would be a red carpet, but i guess we assumed that already
