Is there any chance they will put up those singles from the last decade on the album?
Songs like Doom & Gloom and Living in a Ghost Town?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I don't think so. Especially Doom & Gloom and One More Shot (the latter wasn't exactly their finest hour, btw) - those were recorded 11 years ago. Why re-release them now?

Ghost Town was thematically their lockdown song. That ship has sailed as well.

(By the way, it seems Doom & Gloom and One More Shot were recorded on 21-23 August, 2012 - 11 years ago this week!)

Andrew Watt produced also Iggy Pop's 2023 album 'Every Loser' and I was surprised that it got in some reviews only 2.5-3 stars - [iorr.org] .

Before you vomit, we don't know yet if Elton's even on there. Still not confirmed.

Ben Waters, Bill Wyman and Paul McCartney are all on record saying they're on it. (Or at least that they recorded with the Stones)
Ben Waters and Bill Wyman sounds great smiling smiley
Still not so happy of the other one... saw him once (and the last time!) live, think he is very arrogant. the show was so "look at me, Im so good" (while it was not)... They used tapes (or mp3 or whatever) too for the backings at that show...

Not at all, only VOODOO LOUNGE, STRIPPED, BRIDGES TO BABYLON, FOUR NEW LICKS, LIVE LICKS, A BIGGER BANG, EXILE RARITIES, SOME GIRLS RARITIES, two new tracks for GRRR, STICKY FINGERS RARITIES, BLUE AND LONESOME, Living in a Ghost Town, and half of HACKNEYED DIAMONDS, so basically nothing.

Hackney diamonds is slang for broken glass.
Thank you for this info. Now I get the the promo, which fits perfect to the Stones.

I don't see D&G or OMS making this album, as both of those were on GRRR!. LIAGT could be a bonus track on the Japanese release perhaps....

I love our varied tastes on here!!! For me, OMS is the better of the two. In fact, it's one of my very favorite latter-day Stones tracks!!! It's even on my overall favorite Stones tracks playlist!!!

I love the backing track though it's highly derivative of past work. The lyrics are the let down. "Spare me regurgitation, in refrigeration. While I'm masticating, you were masturbating" didn't do much for me.

Yes: [iorr.org] . The wrong newspaper date was corrected, but the date about the leaked artwork is incorrect and the infos about that are insufficient.

Hackney diamonds is an old and rarely used cockney slang for ‘broken glass’ - rough area (previously) and not affluent - hence smash glass.

So let me throw that pebble into the thought puddle!

That's really cool information and not something this Canadian would ever know!

Given that, and Jagger's propensity for "double B" titles, we can all count ourselves lucky that this one isn't called Broken Bottles.

You wouldn't know who the producer was unless it was written on the credits.

The advertisement in Hackney Gazette appeared on 17th August, but the Wikipedia entry originally said 22nd August.

The hints to this newspaper-ad came on 21st August - [iorr.org] . The reports about the leaked artworks appeared also on that date - [iorr.org] .

For the history books, it would be interesting to know exactly when, where & how the album artworks were leaked.

a bit OT but noticed them in the google streetviews..........do all the double deckers in England now have that modern look to them? Miss the older ones from when I was there in '06.

I'm sure The Glimmer Twins can also be added as Producers for the new album in Wiki, as they've been credited as such on the past several releases.

Just my 2 cents, but I always liked One More Shot better than Doom. Has a SFM glaze to it…

The Hoffman people are at 22 pages on their Hackney Diamonds thread.

[forums.stevehoffman.tv]

We gotta pick it up! winking smiley

One of their users said he'd read somewhere that all the tracks on the new record were played by Charlie, but two.

This post doesn't mention two tracks but is pretty specific on the topic, not sure how though...[forums.stevehoffman.tv]

"It is, for the most part.
Certain things have been recorded afterwards. "

Not sure about the whole of England, but the new London double-decker buses (New Routemaster) were produced 2011–2017 - [en.Wikipedia.org] .

I don't like the echo, reverb? effect being used on Jagger's voice on D&G. It's what plagues a lot of B&L for me. Plus again his rhyme scheme leaves much to be desired. I'll take masticating and masturbating over dirt and hurt or mooooooooooood, dooooooooooooom.

To each their own dude. I love a lot of the latter day stuff, whilst most on here do not. I rank Voodoo as their top album - head and shoulders above EOMS. Sacrilege round these parts. Does it make me a lesser fan? We've all got stories as to how we got here, but at the end of the day, we're all here for the common love of the greatest run in the history of RNR, that is about to be extended a little bit further in the coming weeks.

You enjoy your choices and I'll enjoy mine, thanks. I'll have a shot on your behalf to help ya chillax.
