Dalston (an area in Hackney) diamonds

scroll down....... [londonist.com] ...what that's about I have no idea.

No idea either, but there's lots of hints and mysteries to decipher, including a possible reference to their former rivals - Lucy in the Sky With Hackney Diamonds...
If you consider that special guest Elton recorded a cover of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds in the '70's, in addition to former Beatle Paul playing bass on a new tune, it's all starting to make sense...lol...

Maybe rather the title of the long-expected first single from the new album?

If the October date is correct (someone well connected told me November a few months ago) the date must be October 20th, the following week is the release of Taylor Swift and that one will be #1 for 2-3 weeks minimum.

Diamonds for a 60th anniversary. Diamonds are gemstones.
I'm confident it didn't go down this way but this sounds like a title where Keith and Mick each got to pick one word.
I quite like it. I hope it's great.

Wow! Cool! So when do we get the first single? This week or next week? It's not that much time until October!

Btw if you suscribe to the newsletter it says opening EARLY September. So maybe the new single comes early September? Or is it the whole album? Is that October Date confirmed anywhere?

Love the title! Love the cover, if that IS the cover, with the woman holding the fractured Diamond. That last image of all the Diamond eyes looks like it was designed by the same artist who does a lot of The Weeknd’s artwork. Man they’re going to be hip again!!!!! Holy crap!! Love the marketing! They’re going all out on this one!!! I believe it will be #1!!!! Now here’s the question, what are the odds that it holds off Taylor if it is Oct 20!?!?? Is there enough hype to make that happen!?!?!

Same here. I don't know why, but it sounds to me like it's a Keith's suggestion.

October almost seems too soon. I would think a single sometime in September to be followed by the album in November.

Before it got taken down on the Steve Hoffman forum, someone cut and pasted a few sentences from the album design website that said it would be announced in September and released in october.

Rolling Stones brand new studio album Hackney Diamonds
To be announced Sept 2023 & Released Oct 2023 - The overriding theme of the album is based on relationships, with ongoing references of broken glass and harsh elements

I really hope it's not the case. Even if that artwork was not intended to be published, I'm sure it helped in promoting the new album.

When I registered, it said: “Don’t get angry, get it fixed”. What does that mean?

"Specialists in glass repair"

It could be a nice reference to that they got broken and heartbroken and are now putting pieces back together.

After registering, I got an email asking me to confirm my subscription. The email was sent by Hackney Diamonds and Polydor: Universal Music Operations, London.

Word travels fast!

"The Rolling Stones last album of original songs was ‘A Bigger Bang’ 18 years ago in 2005".

It's certainly been a very long time in the making, and I imagine the story about the new album will soon be spreading like wildfire!

I recall from aeons ago that there used to be a slogan in London that was..

"'Ave an Ad in the 'Ackney"

And that seems to be exactly what they have done!

[Translation for non-English speakers: "Do take out an advertisement in The Hackney Gazette. It is a jolly good newspaper."]
