OT: Every Picture Tells a Story Released May 1971

52 years ago this month- that's got me feeling old. A brilliant record, justifiably acclaimed and always in those "Best Records of All Time" lists. Rods peak achievement with a big assist from Ronnie Wood. Rod pioneered the rock/folk blend that Ronnie Lane perfected a few years later. Have a listen..

One of, if not his best. Classic as can be. I still play it.

One of the best albums ever made.

This is a fantastic album and one that I always enjoy listening to, I'm listening to it right now.
It could be a Faces album, since everyone participated, but Rod's then-manager wanted to launch Rod's solo career.
Ronnie had a big input....obviously Maggie May is great, but like everything else on the album.

These days he sings the title song with edited lyrics.

It's great, but Never a Dull Moment's better, IMHO.

Gasoline Alley may be even better than either. Since the other two have such heavily played tracks, it sounds fresher to my ears.

The moment Maggie May comes on I'm heading to high school, stopping for coffee, a donut and smoking a joint on the way.
